If you were born with a tumor on your forehead and I as a surgeon approached you and told you "That can be surgically removed", would you think me intrusive?

It has become politically correct to say that homosexuals are born that way. There was even a study done proving it........................until it was found that the person doing the study was gay and stilted the study so that his homosexually biased opinion would prevail. So that concept has been pretty much scientifically discredited.
I have a very few friends and very few family members who are homosexual, i treat them just like I do anyone else. HOWEVER, that does not mean that I condone their lifestyle in any way shape or form. It is just not my business to confront them about it.........most of the time......in certain situations it might become necessary. They know I am a Christian and they don't bother me about it. I know what they are and don't bother them about it. It takes a certian amount of maturity to learn what you can and cannot change and what you should and should not say.
Yashua the Messiah came to save all sinners, including homosexuals. We need to make sure we realize what our own sins are and make some progress on overcoming them before we go beat up others for thier sins.

If they are born gay, where is the marker in the brain for Homosexuality?
If they are not why did the American Psychological Association and others always consider Homosexuality a mental health problem caused by a overbearing mother and an absent father figure or some kind of sexual abuse had occurred. Until 1980 when political forces made them leave it out of the DSM IV.

I'm a fundamental Baptist and I certainly believe homosexuality is a sin just like having sex outside of marriage is a sin and looking at porn is a sin. It still is disputed in the science field if people are genetically born gay. Even if they are that wouldn't make homosexuality any less of a sin because scientists have said serial murders have genetics that make them that way and that people that are addicted to drinking have genetics that make them that way. Countless homosexuals have changed and even if a homosexual comes to Jesus and they still have homosexual feelings they have a choice to not act on those feelings just like a theft that has an urge to steal doesn't need to act that feeling out.

I agree. I think it would be healthy for everyone to take a step back. As a straight guy, I'd be pretty flipped out at people telling me I should only have sex with other guys. Live and let live, folks. There's enough really bad stuff in the world we should try to fix. Fixing gay people? Go do something useful.

If only it were that easy... People who believe they are right, will do whatever they can to make others believe what they believe.
The issue here is that many Christians believe that you are not simply born gay, but you choose to be gay. Therefore if you choose a lifestyle that is not Christian then you are a sinner. That is what most Christians will tell you and its hard to prove that being homosexual is not a choice.

Never tell people your age.
Fundies think that all gay people do is have sex and party all the time.
It makes the Fundies very jealous.
I find it funny how the Fundies can be like that and then get upset at the efforts of the atheists to save them from religion.
wefmeister;
If I approached a fundie with a tumour on his forehead...
I also love the fact that so many of their biggest antigay preachers have turned out to be raging homo drug addicts like Ted Haggard was.

A real fundamentalist Christian would accept that person, straight or gay. They would realize that the homosexual would be judged by Jesus when the time comes. It is not their place to judge anyone based on their actions. All of the hatred towards homosexuality from fundamentalist Christians just doesn't make any sense.

everyone is born into sin. but EVERYTHING has a root issue...Homosexuals could very well be born like that, but it is most likely because there were things going on while they were in the womb...like their parents wishing they were th opposite sex that they ended up being, or rejection from their father. the Bible is very clear that homosexuality is wrong.
Lev. 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination."
Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them"
1 Cor. 6:9-10, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."
If you ask any homosexual what their relationship with their father is like you will most likely get a NEGATIVE reaction! Try it;)

I am sorry you had a Christian that was rude and insensitive towards you. More important .......... The real concern should be if you know you are going to heaven when you die? We are all sinners. I am. The unforgivable sin is only not accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. I have found when someone is so hard on a particular sin, they have one that they are struggling within their own heart.

Amen to you. And I'd like to add that this is also supposed to be the land of the free. Who cares if you disagree with how someone else feels or thinks you should have the right to be what you want to be, so long as it does not harm anyone else.
