We cant always see the good we do. but wherever we go we leave an impression. and idea that sticks with a person. so even though you dont realise it yet you have helped or touched the lives of many people.

Chick tracts? No clue what you mean. Witnessing, that's a delicate subject. Some people believe it is their job to preach non stop. I believe, more so, planting seeds, means, letting your light shine. Remember the song "This Little Light Of Mine": it means walk in the WAY. teach by example. When those who see your example, and are moved by it to seek guidance from you, then by all means share, but go gently, don't overload their donkey, so to speak.
it is the Father, YHVHs who calls the sick, IE; those needing a physician. Let YHVH lead you on your path, not you leading your own path. It is easy for those zealous in the word to forget you are a clay vessel, and YHVH is the Potter. Bible thumping can be a bigger turn off than a Salvation Leader, when done without YHVHs lead. Remember who is in control. Study Revelations, which of the 7 churches are you representing? As I am lead to understand, through my Scripture studies; The Kingdom is with-in you. Therefore each and every person, should, look to see which church you portray.
Please remember, only some seeds land on good ground. Do you honor the LAW of TORAH, or have you been taught this is no more? If you have been taught that the Law is no more, well you are not alone, in this misguiding, Read Matthew, Heaven and Earth are still here. So the Law is still valid, not just the convenient parts, like tithing.
Mostly, when I hear the word Christian I cringe inside, It is an ambiguous word. Not one I declare under, due to this.
Yes I follow the WAY, YHVH fearing out of Love, from Genesis to Revelation.
I am a Nazarene/ Judaic/ law observant/non legalistic/non traditionalist, No denomination out there to really categorize our family's faith in, yet I am honored to live as a Remnant of YHVH,
Shalom and Blessings,
If you have questions put me on your contacts, for Scripture studies please. In the future, when I learn how to do it, I will put a file on my profile that will give further explanation to what I referred to about the Law and why I believe it is valid, Scripturally. So I do not overload your donkey, I will leave you with this.
Peace and prayers for the Kingdom,
YHVH_clan

First of all, there is already a lot of witnessing on TV and Radio.
Not to mention the internet. Then there are a lot of outreaches
by churches and evangelical societies. Some people will take literally years before they come to Christ. Don't give up, just be patient. After all there are at least 60 million born again Christians in the USA by conservative count. Trust the Lord to
put the right people in your path. It doesn't always happen over
night.

I wouldn't even use a Chick tract for compost, they might poison the plants. They spew hate, prejudice, and intolerance at all who read them. As for the 4 Spiritual Laws, 3 of them are the things I find most annoying about fundamentalist Christians.
Show up at this pagan's door and it will be slammed in your face.

The only things I can think of that are less effective than Chick Tracts and Four Spiritual Laws are the Arguments from Banana and Peanut Butter.

Hi!
I just want to say well done for witnessing! Here's a website I've found useful (we've recently been doing this evangelism course at church, and I think their tracts and method can be great in certain circumstances). http://www.wayofthemaster.com/
I guess other things are:
Pray
Try to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit
Do you know any other Christians who get good responses from ppl? If so you might like to go witnessing with them to pick up some tips.
Remember - God's word will never return to Him void!

I was witnessed to by probably about 10-20 people in my pre-christian life. None of them "saw results", because I was not saved in front of any of them, nor was able to contact any of them after I was saved - but they did plant the seeds that allowed me to read and research and seek until I found the truth. Here is a very beautiful true story about a missionary who had every reason to believe his efforts were futile:

Hope it encourages you. Just make sure your witness is loving and not obnoxious...If you want to make sure, ask a few people you are witnessing to, for their honest opinion.
p.s. uh,oh...I did not know what a chick track was so I enquired on Answers and some people sent me a link so I read one - I would have to say these might be causing you a problem, because they do seem rather obnoxious. Personally, pre-Christian I was impressed by two kinds of witnessing: 1. people who showed respect for my intellect in pointing out and explaining Biblical and other Historical evidence for Christianity, or 2. People who would do a random act of kindness, like stop and change my flat tire, then mention Jesus and leave. I don't think I would have been very impressed by somebody who handed me a comic book about how I was going to burn in Hell. Is that really how YOU were saved?

God sees their hearts. If you're been obedient and planted the seeds, you can't force the seeds to grow....as God tells you water the seeds and pray He will give the "seeds" what they need to grow. Trust the Lord to take you to the right people. Some "seeds" you may never see the result of on earth, but you'll meet people in heaven that are there because you shared with them. Keep the faith.

Remember that you can't save anyone. Only God can do that.
You're trying too hard. It's not your job to convert people.
And I have to agree with others that gospel tracts are kind of a 1950's witnessing technique. Today people are more interested in your life experience than reading some little comic book. Tell them what your Christian faith has done for you.
And even if you do that, remember it's not possible for you to save people.

God is dealing with the seeds that you are planting but we do NOT always get to see what Blessing that our efforts brings to the Lives of others. God is keeping a record and creating treasures in Heaven for you because if you receive your reward down here you would not have it for eternity in Heaven. Remain Faithful and finish your race and God will Bless You for ever. Amen

At one point in my Christian life I was running Alpha Courses and as a result of them, many people came to the Lord and I was able to witness this. Someone must have witnessed to them before or maybe more than one person...who knows?? GOD knows, yes God knows who witnessed to them and it was all part of His plan for them to choose the path they chose. Over 80% of people who come to Jesus do it as a result of observation of Christian living so it is more important that we 'live the life' and set an example to people of what is expected rather than trying too hard to convert them. It is also highly important to Pray to God that you do and say the right things to further His will in your life.
Keep seeking the way forward and you will get your just rewards.
Best wishes, Mike.
