Sorry...I spent 9 years doing the sunday aerobics (sit, kneel, stand, kneel, stand, sit, stand, get in line for a cracker, etc.).

There is no amount of money, in all honesty, that could get me to return to, what I consider to be, one of the worst times of my life.

I'm not an atheist but I am not a church person either. I would take up this offer because 1. I could help alot of people with 5 mill I believe. 2. I could learn something about a religion and I love tests of knowledge. 3. I would be going to this church to enlighten others on my beliefs as best I could so hopefuly I would convert some to my way of thinking a lil lol...

Hell yes.

What is the quiz on? Can I take it at the beginning and if I pass just collect the $4,800,000?

What did you do to get $5M? Clear out the loose change from the Pope's pockets?

Edit:
It is not going to change what is true though. At the end of the year I will still be an atheist. But I can't say whether all the congregation will stay Christian.

Sounds like an easy way to earn a check. After taxes, that's about $1923 per week assuming I don't pass the test. Now, if you wanted to make your question more interesting, say the money came from funds that the church set aside to build an orphanage in some third world country.

It would depend on the church. I would definetely go to the LDS church because I was a member for 8 years and could pass the test at the very beginning hands down. I probably wouldn't have any problem going to most churches either, as long as they are mainstream and don't do any of that laying on of hands or speaking in tongues crap. Other than that, heck yeah. Hell, I'm even considering going just for the social aspect of it anyway.

Going to church is no problem, but what's the quiz?

Listen, it's not as though many atheists haven't BEEN to church. For many of us, it was studying religion in depth that led to becoming atheist.

I still go to church occasionally because the people there are very kind, loving, and friendly (I just stay out of religious discussions!). However, I realize that their beliefs are based on fictional stories, myths that were invented by ignorant, primitive people to explain the world.

Actually, yes. I would. AND I'd be very nice to everyone there, even though I disagreed with them.

That's not bad payment for putting up with about 100 hours of bull. Heck, I do the same at work and get paid a lot less.

Edit: and as a pagan Taoist I see nothing wrong with doing so. I'd just prove I can co-exist peaceably.

Who wouldn't? It's an opportunity to sift out the wisdom in the Bible, and meet new people. I'd only go for those two reasons, and to get that money. I wouldn't participate in any prayer though. There's nothing wrong with going to church. My family and I could use the money, and anything left over I'd donate to the needy.

Why would you want to pay me to take a Sunday off...

I went to church for over 14 years...

I've seen all I need to see...

I'll take the test and you can give me the money, But Football season is just around the corner...

AND...
SOMEONE...

PLEASE tell "Wikisidr"
To shut her little trap until she at least attends a Respected (non-religious) University.

She's making me sick with her lack of knowledge....

I would. Not like I'd have to do anything I didn't want to, and you didn't specify a church. Can I attend a jewish temple, or a buddhist ceremony every week? Where's the money?
