I can't speak for Islam, but I think the LDS religion conceptualizes doubt in the giving of testimonies and the encouragement to find a testimony on and of your own.

Yes, I think you are correct, Islam and the LDS share an error in common:
Muhammad and Joseph Smith both recognized the validity of the Old and New Testaments. Unfortunately, they both took Biblical teachings and concepts and twisted them for their own human purposes.
