I am trying to find out which religious saint a friend gave me? I don't know if it's Greek, Roman or anything else, all I see is a saint with a crown standing, he has three fingers of his right hand pointing upward (He looks like he's making a peace sighn but he has his thumb up as well) and in his left hand he has a circular object with a cross on it (sort of like what the queen was carring when she was crowned)

I know this isn't helpful. But I want to know who it is and the lady who gave it to me assumed that I knew who he was. So I went along with it an acted surprised and happy. Truth is I know nothing about saints.

Help I am seeing her tomorrow.

I have read a little bit about the collective heaven theory, and I don't understand how it's possible. In the post on here about 'debunking a collective heaven,' the author asks about pizza as an example. The best response I saw to this question was that everyone's favorite type of pizza would be served. This makes sense, of course...But, here is one point that I truly cannot understand. I smoke. I smoke like a damn chimney. If I go to heaven there will be smoking if I desire it, correct? Well, then what about all the people who DON'T want smoking in heaven? Do they go to heaven too? The bible doesn't say smoking is bad, but it does say heaven is perfect, so how would we all go to heaven? Would there be smoking? Correct me if I'm wrong...But doesn't this prove Christianity wrong? Do not complain to me about trying to fight your religion, I seek knowledge, not anti-christians...If you are offended by this post you should re-read it and realize that I am honestly curious.

I mean in terms that you've woken up Christmas morning and you actually did nothing because someone wouldn't let your family celebrate it?

Please tell me why the argument over words, just verbal greetings, used in stores and other places always seems to insinuate this.

Rev 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Is it possible it could be America? What do you think?

In the late 1700s some people wanted democratic rule. Conservative elements of the church pointed to the Bible and said it proved that the king ruled by God's will.

In the mid 1800s some people wanted to end slavery. Conservative elements of the church pointed to the Bible and said it proved that God approved of slavery.

In the early 1900s some people wanted to give women the vote. Conservative elements of the church pointed to the Bible and said it proved that God made women inferior to men.

In the mid 1900s some people wanted to end segregation. Conservative elements of the church pointed to the Bible and said it proved God wanted to keep the races separate.

When you look back at how your parents and grandparents dealt with these things, are you ashamed or proud?

Now some people want to allow gay marriage. Conservative elements of the church are pointing to the Bible and saying it proves God hates homosexuality.

Before anyone jumps up & down, I am not saying ALL religious people do. But why are psychics and anyone who has a gift of that nature hated and called devil worshipers?
Do christians believe that psychics get their information first hand from Satan or are they just scared they might hear something they don't like?

BETHLEHEM (AP) -- The death threat came on simple
white fliers blowing down the streets at dawn. A group calling
itself "Friends of Muhammad" accused a local Palestinian
Christian of selling mobile phones carrying offensive sketches of the
Muslim prophet.

The message went on to curse all Arab Christians and Pope
Benedict XVI, still struggling to calm Muslim outrage from his
remarks on Islam.

While neighbours defended the merchant -- saying the charges in
the flier were bogus -- the frightened phone dealer went into
hiding, feeling less than satisfied with authorities' conclusion
that the Oct. 19 note was probably a harmless rant.

Now the dealer is thinking of going abroad.

Call it part of a modern exodus, the steady flight of the tiny
Palestinian Christian minority that could lead, some predict, to
the faith being virtually extinct in its birthplace within
several generations -- a trend mirrored in many dwindling pockets of
Christianity across the Islamic world.

This is one of the major themes the pope is expected to carry to
Turkey for a four-day visit beginning Nov. 28 -- his first papal
visit to a predominantly Muslim nation. The Vatican calls it
"reciprocity:" Muslim demands for greater sensitivity from the
West must be accompanied by stronger protections and rights for
Christian minorities.

I have a veeeeeeeery long fuse, but I've just about come to the end of it, and I need all you people out there to tell me:
Why is it that if a customer can't find something in the store, or they're annoyed with having to wait in line too long, they take it out on the cashiers?? I need to be blunt and honest here: If you don't see it on the shelf, we probably don't carry it. Period. No amount of yelling at me is going to make it magically appear for you! Besides, why don't you find someone in that department and tell THEM?? And why do you complain to me that there aren't enough registers open?? It's not my fault we're short-staffed! "Why don't you hire more people?" you ask. Well, we'd hire them if they'd apply! We can't drag people in off the street and put them on registers! Maybe YOU'D like to apply??
PLEASE stop complaining to us! We were hired to scan your items and take your payment. And believe me, we try to be as friendly as possible. It's hard, but we try. Won't you?

Is it okay to say that? What if someone were to provide statistics showing that it is true, would it still be okay to say it or would it still be considered racist towards either whites or blacks.

Why do you think Jesus died for you? Sure God is all loving and caring, but that doesn't change the fact that there is a lake of fire called hell where souls who rejected Jesus are now suffering forever. We should try to save people from that place rather than deny that it exists.

my friend and i had a class at the local collage, after class we went to the restroom. we both had pamphlets from class that we laid on the counter.
when we came out we saw that someone had stolen our stuff. it wasn't worth anything to anyone but us.
i was amazed that this would happen at the collage. i guess i expect too much from people (like honesty).

we went back to class and the teacher gave us another pamphlet. there shouldn't have been a need.
why do you think someone would do that?
