What do you like to do? Do you like kids? Animals? Senior Citizens? How about cooking? Gardening? Building things? Are you good with computers? Have a passion for art? How about reading?

You can do anything from spedning time with a lonely senior citizen to working on a Habitat for Humanity house. If you like seniors and crafts, how about teaching a craft class at a senior center or nursing home? Or teaching an at-risk youth to play the piano? If you love to read, how about tutoring or mentoring? you can play basketball with kids in an after-school program at the boys & girls club. Do you have a pet? Look into registering your pet as a therapy dog and visit patients in hospitals and other long-term care facilities....there's millions of things you can do.

My advice is to pick something that sounds like fun to you, and will fit into your schedule. Your local volunteer center or United Way can help you find something, if you're still stuck.

Good luck!

Volunteer at a hospital as a patient visitor. Visit with the elderly. Help campaign for your local office.

Basically figure out what you are interested in and try to find a way to turn it into charity or volunteer work!

See if there is any Thrift shops in your neighborhood Some of them could be from charities shops for Cancer Foundation, or a local hospital could have a Thrift shop, Salvation Army. Call Senior Citizens and see what you can do for them. Local Hospitals always need volunteers to transport patients in wheelchairs to x ray, or other depts, inside the hospital.

In my area there is a program called volunteer connections and they interview people, find out their interests and skills and then match them with an organisation, that could use their skills. Maybe if you contact your local community or neighbourhood centre and ask there you may get directions...

Any which suits your interest and skills. Doing a volunteer work is no easy job. One really must spare lot of time, energy and work exceptionally hard for the benefit of the community at large.

Use the info. given here by others who rec. websites that show you the 100's of choices. Salvation Army? Good Will? Aids Foundation? I admire your willingness to give to others....Good Luck!

If you love children, why don't you adopt one, and guide his/her well being to be a good citizen in the community.
