I'm Catholic as well.
Please let me clarify for you.
Communion is a sacrament of the Eucharist.
Confession is sacrament of reconciliation.
Confession is not the scary thing of shame and punishment that many of our Christian brethren think it is. It is telling God that you are sorry for the sins that you have commited and that you want to be forgiven. Jesus did of course give dispensation to Peter (The Catholics churches 'first' pope) for "those sins you forgive, i forgive, those sins you retain, they shall be be retained"
Please note that you must be a baptised Catholic to receive communion.
It is preferable to participate in the act of reconciliation before you receive communion.
Please do email me if there are any other questions that you might have that i can help you with.

No, you have to go to Confession before you can receive Holy Communion. But before you can go to confession you have to go through the proper classes. Talk to a priest, he will be able to help you know what you need to do.
God bless,

You question is confusing. Are you saying that you have not had your first communion? You go to confession before you go to communion. As others here have said, ask your priest. Your question is not clear.

well, how can you be Catholic and not know from Catechism that you go to Confession BEFORE you go to Communion? that's what Confession is all about. to unburden yourself of your sins so you can freely receive the Eucharist.

You can confess first, just call or meet the priest after or before mass.

It's better that way, as you should be in a state of grace to receive communion

Dear, has anyone ever showed you this verse in the bible? "There is one God, and one mediator between God and man, Jesus Christ". You don't have to jump through hoops to "first make yourself worthy" to talk to God. Jesus has made the way for you, on the cross. Just talk to Him!
