Another yahoo user's question about the ''N word'' inspired me to ask this one. Caucasion people shouldnt be offended by being called a ''cracker'' because it is actually referring to your skin color and unless you're insecure about it, and/or HATE actual crackers, you shouldnt be offended. If someone were to call me an ''oreo'' because of my mixed race (black and white) I would not by any means be offended. Im happy with who I am and dont care to get offended by someone making a comparison between me and something that shares the same color(s). Im not judging those of you who are offended by it, or would be (if someone called you a ''cracker'' in a heated argument) but I'm curious as to why.

thanks and have a nice night :)

place a dividing line between men and women? Yes we are different in many ways, but there is not much in: the home, on the street, and in the work place that women can't do the same as a man, or just as good of a job if not even better then men. Not to put men down in any way, but if a man did not feel (for lack of a better word) Weaker then a woman, just maybe we all can work together instead of cut each other off at the knees.

I don't want to offend anyone but I was wondering....I'm not real clear on the religion stuff and god. My friend, (who is veryyy religious) and I were talking and I asked her in the bible it say's every1 has a designated time that they will die. No matter what u do when ur time is up, it's up. Ok, what I don't get is, if every1 has a certain time and nothing will change that, then why can't I let my kids run down the highway! If it's not their designated time, Nothing should happen to them right?? Don't mean this to be nasty, I'm just trying to undersatnd.

I just saw on CNN that pple who are religious are happier. I thought this was ironic b/c when i was younger and very religious, it brought me nothing but grief, b/c i felt like everything i did was wrong. I brought up in a WASP household and was brought up to believe Jesus, and I do. But i don't think he is the end all be all to salvation. I'm thinking about "United Church" or a very liberal-Prosetant church, but I dunno. Can anybody help. I also have a deep respect for Judiasm and have studied many different religions. I need something i can believe in,but is in line with my liberal, progressive beliefs.

I would like to hear from people who find that keeping their faith (particularly being a strong Catholic) is much harder as they get older? hearing other people laugh and shrug off telling me things like..."Why do you even feel guilty what some man wrote 2000 years ago and let that control your life? "God loves you and made you why would he send you to hell?" and also hearing the many exploits of others that I have not yet embarked on and hopefully will not and they appear more happy/successful and without any shame it makes me I hate to say sometimes jealous and doubt my faith because they seem to be enjoying life more carefree and without worry or fear of any punishment from God even though they believe in him while I have much fear of the Lord because of my sins. I am not saying I am by any means more innocent but are these people more in Gods favor because they dont feel ashamed of it seems anything they do?

We always do a gift exchange at work and normally I've been able to come up with some good ideas. This year, however, our business has expanded so there are more employees and I don't know them as well as I knew everyone before, so finding a great gift is hard. Also, rather than drawing names as we normally did, we're to just bring a gift and then everyone will pick one or something along those lines. There are both males and females aged 17-55. Does anyone have any good ideas, keeping in mind we don't know who will end up with our gift? Oh, and we're only allowed to spend up to $20.

I am a newly convert of Christianity. So is it Jesus, I need to follow? Again, I recently have accepted him has my personal savior. I just have questions of those who worship other sources of god such as, Allah, Buddah, etc. Are they going to hell? Who's to say? I mean, for those people with good hearts, philantropy and altruism, humanity, perform cleansing meditations and harespect for this earth at the fore front everyting they do. Will they go to hell if they don't accept Jesus? I want to cry this hurts so bad.. The not knowing ya know? I am really trying to find ansers. We just started going to a Christian church and am moved every time. But when they say Jesus is the only way, or you go to hell, it scares me and makes me feel guilty when I sometimes feel my worship is to God in general. If others who follow different faiths continue, will they go to hell? Then others talk of reincarnation, and past lives, does Jesus promote that way of thinking?? The guilt of not knowing.. thanks..

No online translations; they're too literal. If you don't speak Portuguese fluently, please don't answer. BTW, if it makes any difference it's Brazilian Portuguese, how big is the difference is it like British and American English?

KAOMA - LAMBADA:

Dança, sol e mar, guardarei no olhar
O amor faz perder e encontrar

Lambando estarei
Ao lembrar que este amor
Por um dia, um instante foi rei

Canção, riso, e dor, melodia de amor
Um momento que fica no ar

P.S. If anyone out there would be so kind as to fix any errors or missing words it'd be splendid. Obrigado.
