I would feel honored that they thought of me as such a close friend to tell me.

Homo is the genus that includes modern humans and their close relatives. The genus is estimated to be between 1.5 and 2.5 million years old. All species except Homo sapiens (modern humans) are extinct. Earlic archaic Homo sapiens, whom also may be referred to as Homo neanderthalensis, traditionally considered the last surviving relative, died out 30,000 years ago while recent evidence suggests that Homo floresiensis lived as recently as 12,000 years ago.
Given the proper definition of the word, it would appear he is simply statign the obvious since all humans are homos - even you and your parents and all yoru friends and everyone living or dead.

embrace him or her and try not to use the term "homo" us gay/les aren't really too keen on that term (keep that in mind).
but dont say ur comfortable with it if u really aren't because that will make u more uncomfortable jus reply like "ok gimme some time to process this" or try "as long as u kno i dont agree with ur lifestyle....." hope this helps a lil

How would your best friend react if you told them that they were straight?
Would It be any different?
I feel they showing their integrity to have you know & that your an important person in their life...
Also needs someone to trust & communicate their feelings to,
I'd support them with their choice....

Well first id pobablly tell tehm to take a little pride and admit to themselves that they're GAY (not homos).... and then i would tell them that a alot of misinformed people may make judgments about them and use derogotory terms towards them. I would offer to be there and help them through any problems they should have.

I would know beforehand that it wouldn't be the case. I select very like-minded friends and there's a factor of being on the same wave-length.
In the future, there will probably be a law that you MUST have a homosexual as a friend, or face jail for "discrimination."

Ya know, i have been in this situation. My best friend admitted to me that she is a lesbian. I didn't cope so well at first...but then i started having feelings for her, or should i say i admitted having feelings for her, and we ended up falling in love. It's your classic girl meets girl, girl loves girl, girl breaks girl's heart kinda stories. *sigh*
needless to say, our friendship has suffered greatly, but we are determined to remain best friends.

Let them know that I'm glad they chose me to tell that too.
Go out with them and have a few beers and really talk about life and people, and laugh a lot.
