Pendejo is a mexican bad word. Dont use it. It is like saying you ***** or something like that

im not sure exactly eat that means but i kno while i was in arizona i got wrot up for sayin that i copyed it from a lil mexican girl i said "tu pichen pendejo" i jus no its nothin good and mostly itsa curse word i'l ask my g/f 2 morrow and make sure. hope this helps a lil.

The actual word means "pubic hair" (its roots are Latin, and not mexican, like most think).
This was its only meaning, until it got transformed into the misused version most know today, which has the meaning the people above me have said. HOWEVER, if you go to Argentina, among others, it means "small" or "young(er)," and in places like Perú it's the total opposite--"sly," "smart." Same thing happens with other curse words (it's sad to see how we've deformed their original meaning). Check these out:
WORD: Pinchi (used as pinche, mostly)
ORIGINAL MEANING: Kitchen helper / Chef's helper
VULGARIZED MEANING: Dumb, stupid.
WORD: Cabrón
ORIGINAL MEANING: Male goat.
VULGARIZED MEANING: Mother......... (as in "cool person")
WORD: Puta

a s s h o l e - although it's used so commonly in Spanish slang that it kinda means stupid or idiot. Say it in front of your friends, but not your elders.
