What are your Superstitons?

Why do we have supersitions where does this come from. Are superstitions like myths

I don't like to walk under ladders and I squirm when I see a black cat crossing the road in front of me when I am driving but I don't go out of the way to go around it as my ex- husband used to do.
He is a Newfie and they all believe in every superstition that was ever thought up. We used to have some pretty nasty arguments about all that stuff, but I guess a few of his myths rubbed off on me anyway.
My parents alway believed that a hat on a bed was bad luck as was shoes on a table or was that the other way around? Of course we all know the one about spilled salt and how you take a pinch of that and toss it over your left shoulder. I find myself doing that now and then.

i have no idea why he said i hate you. weird ***. hmm

i dont walk under ladders, put hats on beds, close anything that i have borrowed (like a swiss army knife, etc), i avoid crossing lights that are blinking, and i try not to cross over water.
some supersitions are myths but some are just kinda a gut feeling. depends on the person.

Contrary to popular believes yes there real.Mine are of faint images that appear on photographs taken in grave yards that weren't there before.
