We always do a gift exchange at work and normally I've been able to come up with some good ideas. This year, however, our business has expanded so there are more employees and I don't know them as well as I knew everyone before, so finding a great gift is hard. Also, rather than drawing names as we normally did, we're to just bring a gift and then everyone will pick one or something along those lines. There are both males and females aged 17-55. Does anyone have any good ideas, keeping in mind we don't know who will end up with our gift? Oh, and we're only allowed to spend up to $20.

Hey this year why don't you think beyond yourself & a $ 20.00 lousy gift you will regift anyway? Why not think about adopting a local family or pooling your $20.00 gift limit all together & donate it to a local shelter-food bank- Humane Society etc. That will give you all a real nice, warm feeling in your heart & you will remember this party the best ever! You will still have your office party sans the gifts but you will give to a cause that really could use it instead of that lousy $ 20.00 HIckory Farm Cheese Basket you take home. One person will volunteer to take charge of the $ & the you can all vote on the place to donate the $. Believe me this will be the best holiday ever for your company & will become an annual event you will try to top every year! Good luck, let me know!

We had a $20 dollar gift exchange. I got a mug, a plate, a box of tea, some cocoa packets, a box of chocolates, and a inexpensive flannel lap warmer, in a basket. The giver called it the snuggle by the fire on a cold winter night kit. Cute.
A variety of individual snacks in a cheap bowl, with a Blockbuster gift card is cute. Call it the night in front of the TV kit.
Gormet chocolates work.
A glass canister set and put a different kind of candy in each. Do they still make those glass Xmas trees that you fill with starlight mints? I have one, it is cute.
Make your own basket of cheese and crackers and a small bottle of sparking juice. Add summer sausage. What's the name of that place that opens up at the mall every year and sells gift boxes like that? Whatever Farms? Fix it like that. Figis is another source to copy from for that..
CDs with Xmas music. The discount department stores have them at Xmas at a cheap price. Buy a funny one, and a nice one with orchestra music.
Fix a fruit basket, copy from the ones at the grocery, stack them and put the nuts in the hollows.
Hope this helps. Merry Christmas!

get a nice set from a coffee shop or make one up yourself. Go to the dollar store and buy a basket and a bow and some wrap. You can get a nice mug there too and a spoon. then go to a grocery store or coffee shop and get a can of coffee and some hot chocolate packs and anything else like that then wrap it all up. not many people would like that and its good for male and female. I know i would love a gift like that and I'm a 21 year old female.

Well, there's always the $20 gift card idea. Or how about a Christmas CD (and some Christmasy chocolate to go with?)? You could also give a fleece blanket.

Hmm, they should have let you all choose names. That's a wide age range to try and appeal to!

You could get a nice commuter mug (insulated coffee cup with lid) and put a couple of those tiny bags of gourmet coffee or some apple cider packets in it. (Or maybe get the mug from Starbucks and put a giftcard in it.)

Target has really neat looking Migo travel mugs for under $10.
