In my previous post I asked who was on the Ark. I was told Noah, Shem, Ham, Japheth and their wives.

Does the Bible mention their names? These are the women who are supposed to have given birth to (literally) the entire human race. If not, why? Is the word of God sexist?

Are they all lazy? Are they drug addicts? No family? Homeless as a profession? I have seen some begging for money who I know can wash cars, bag groceries, pick strawberries, etc etc. We have immigrants traveling thousands of miles to America, not speak a word of english and earn a decent living. Your thoughts....

I stoped when I dwelled on the question of Gods devine plan. As a Black American, I would have to believe that God allowed all of the Slaves, where estimates range upwards 100,000,000, to have endured those conditions so that the rest of us could be brought out of the heathen African nations. It seems to me that God could have used a more efficent method.

Why don't Christains seem to know or acknowledge so many things about the Bible and their own religion's history? For instance:

Christianity spilt off from Judaism.
The Bible was formed from many Jewish texts. In fact, the Old Testament is derived from standard Jewish writings and codes. When Jesus came as a Jewish prophet, the Jews debated whether he was The Christ fortold of. Christ-ians said, "Yes" and Jews said, "Nope".

Islam spilt from the early Christian faiths.
After Jesus, Mohammed came along. He was another "Prophet". Most of Islam actually believes in Jesus folks! The virgin birth, the raising of the dead, that he was a prophet of God, the whole bit. Jews said, "Jesus wasn't the Christ, just a prophet of God". Christians said, "Jesus was The Christ and the last Prophet", Muslims said, "Nope, God sent Mohammed to clear up the confusian after Jesus".

So far as the Bible being the literal "Word of God" can someone explain which version of the Bible that actually is?

according to the bible, if a father turns out to be gay, he should be stoned, but his children should also honor him.

OK so I always wanted to get as rich as possible at the expense of my own personal fulfilment, purely to support my ailing parents who will soon be inable to support themselves. This would mean that, whilst I was doing a 'good deed', I would be missing out on so much the owlrd has to offer.

OR I could say 'sod money and a decent career' and just live life to the full, but at the same time jeopardising my parents wellbeing and seeing them banged up in some crusty home.

What would you do? Thanks

If you heard "a booming voice from the sky", claiming to be God and God told you to kill your entire family, would you do it? If so, why? If not, why not? I mean it was good enough for Abraham to hear a booming voice, wasn't it?

If you don't believe in booming voices from on High, do you believe that it's just a sign of a mental disorder? If you are religious, would you, -COULD you consider that someone like Abraham *might* have suffered from a mental illness?

Is all Christian truth there? What about the oral tradition before the Bible was canonized? How come mostly all Christians worship on Sunday? That came from the early Church because of the Resurrection. We worship on Sunday because of Tradition. No where in the Bible does it say that the Sabbath is on Sunday. Worship on Sunday goes against sola scriptura.

OK, it's like this. I've been straight my whole 19 years, but over the past month I guess out of boredom and paranoia Ive been saying Im gay even though I ve never wanted to be intimate with another man. Now I can't watch a tv show or look at picture if it has a guy in it in fear that Im gay if I look at him (weird I know). Please help me it's driving me crazy this has never happened before I could look at dude no problem but now I feel I'm gay if I do look at one. Is it paranoia and should I just relax?
