Obviously, the honor is the most important for the Word tells us that we should "honor our fathers and mothers that our days may be long upon the land in which the Lord, God has given us". There is no honor in stoning (or death) which is why the agony and the defeat was so horrifying for our Jesus to bear however; death was a necessity. Even in the natural - the seed that will bear the best tasting, and most beautiful fruit, must go down into the earth, die, and then be reborn to new life. So is man. Death, whether stoning or any other way, is the last enemy that we have to deal with - after that - comes everlasting life. The deeds that are commited (sins) are deeds unto destruction and death. It is the "sin" that God despises, not the sinner. The sinner can be saved. Therefore, the child should still honor the father out of respect. Not because of the lifestyle.
(think about it - they threw stones, spit, hit, beat Jesus AND the same group honored him a week before, throwing down palm branches.)

What makes you think that a child would stone his own father, for any reason?

I presume that thousands of years ago (why are you talking about it in the present tense, anyway?), there were men in the Jewish community who had kids and who were condemned for the act of homosexuality.

Probably very rare, because homosexuality was obviously not the trendy and hip thing back then that it is today. But it probably did happen once in a while.

Presumably, someone other than his own kids carried out the sentence for his act.

So, I don't know why you're asking if somone can stone someone and honor someone at the same time -- when, undeniably, one group of people would have done the honoring but another entirely different group of people would have done the stoning.

Very misleading Q. And the reason is that GOD says not only the father but up to his 4th generation must be murdered. so who cares if childrens will respect the father they will be stoned to death by Lovely Mercifull GOD up to 4 generations.
Therefore GOD exists.

anyone who could stone someone based on another person's values is either a coward for not forming his own opinions, or a fanatic who has no opinions and is very dangerous....
