Satan is not the arch nemisis of God people make him out to be. Think about it if the Lord Almighty wanted Lucifer gone then it would be done. Lucifer is a servant of God as he serves as the angel of temptation. Lucifer actually translates into light barer. Personally I think alot of the images of Lucifer as this beast with hooves and horns comes from a mix up with Pan, the Greek god of paganism.
