I thought everyone was entitled to their opinion.

I am a liberal and it just pisses me right off when a conservative attacks me for what I believe in. I don't do that to them. They ought to have the decency to respect others views. I guess nowadays, it's wrong to express your opinion to conservatives.

Everyone is definately entitled to their opnion, but the people that get upset are the ultra-uptight conservatives because liberals express the exact opposite of their political views. It is a very dumb little war that we have going on in our own country, although most people won't realize it. We need to unite for the good of our country. All of this controversy is not good and evreybody needs to meet at a halfway point. SenseiRob has the right idea.

The same reason why some other people get upset if someone who is conservative expresses their opinion. A lot of people think their opinions are right and everyone else's are wrong.

Oh, please. So many liberals out there believe that their opinions on things are the only morally acceptable ones. I think you've got things ***-backward, no offense.

I wish I had a dime for every time that a liberal called a conservative a racist just because he/she disagreed with affirmative action.

Or for every time that a liberal called a conservative a homophobe just because he/she opposed gay marriage.

Or for every time we are accused of not caring about poor people, just because we oppose increases in taxes and expanded social programs.

Or for being a sexist just because of opposition to abortion or gender quotas in the military or in the private sector.

Get real. Liberals utterly dominate our popular culture, our universities (7 Democrats to every one Republican on the average college faculty), the media, the publishing world, and the world of primary and secondary education.

And liberals in these positions of power and authority have tried to silence the conservative voice so many times, it's sickening.

Liberals are the champions of dirty name-calling against people with whom they disagree.

Some conservatives do this, admittedly -- I'm not a big fan of Ann Coulter for that reason -- but not nearly as often as liberals do!

So, no offense, but I really don't understand what you're complaining about.

Liberals are much more free to voice their opinions without challenge and name-calling than conservatives are. That's not even debatable today.

People are people. There are those that get upset if I express a conservative or libertarian opinion. People make an emotional investment in all kinds of belief systems (political, religious, computer technology, game genres, the list goes on.) If you go against that belief system they take it as a personal attack at the emotional level. A lot of times, they're not even aware that they've become more aggressive.

The best course is to take everything with a grain of salt, some critical observation, and a bit of humor. Afterall, your beliefs are your own and how you act on them determines who you are to yourself. [Translation: Get out and vote. It's one of the true expressions of opinion that matters] :-)

Two things that people take too personal are religion and politics. Everyone should listen and learn and not be so stubborn that their way is the only way!
By the way... I'm a Conservative and I listen to both sides and then make up my own mind.

People have a right to their own opinions. However people often forget to listen to others or they don't look at the facts from many sources. The important thing is to be civil and polite

Many people have the opinion that the only one anybody is entitled to is theirs. Most peope are aware of this as a danger sign of not thinking anymore and they stay clear of it so they can still be allowed to think and learn.

Everyone tends to get a little aggressive whenever their own views are attacked. However, placing ones opinion is hardly an attack though. I think it's because in a sense, they feel violated.

People tend to get upset when anyone expresses an opinion that differs from their own on a subject they feel strongly about. It is human nature.

I think I saw the answer on a T-shirt once...."You're entitled to your opinion as long it's mine" People just hate to think they are wrong and in this day in age where we are the perpetually offended many folks just get aggressive.
