I used to have this arguement all the time with a male roommate. He said that it was feminist to leave the seat up, because putting it down implied that women were too weak and delicate to put it down themselves. However, I argued that leaving the seat up was sexist because it fell under the category of making the women clean up after the men.

Please answer as to whether or not you think it is FEMINIST- not whether you think it is right or wrong, good/bad manners, etc.

Naomi Wolf said this in an interview with Ali G, I just find this hard to believe my g/f has never jumped on me or anything if I have washed a few dishes. Is this true for any ladies out there?

Seriously most men live or lived alone for a period of time. Why do some women still think they can successfully make a man believe that the strain of housework exceeds that of an average job ?

She's THE main suspect now....... And. In the vast vast vast vast majority of cases it is the mother who does do it. Well, her or nearly as often the 'boyfriend'....... It's almost never the natural father....... But, did the woman do it?

There is an unabashed sense of entitlement that runs rampant throughout our society today and nowhere is this tendency more poignantly illustrated than in the women for men personals. Candidly, I refer to them as ‘The Comics’ and they have been a never-ending source of amusement for me. For years I have perused these ads, gleefully sharing snippets and laughter with friends and family. For all the joy, laughter and escape they have provided me with over the years, I’ve decided to give a little back in the way of advice for you women for men personal ad writers.

1. You are NOT a princess, queen or a goddess. Really. I know you say that you want a relationship between equals but how can I possible be on equal terms with royalty or deities? For what it’s worth, princesses were often forced into relationships against their will, for the good of someone other than themselves.
2. Claiming intelligence is not intelligent; intelligence is relative. Telling me that your friends

one particularly odd individual revealed in an answer yesterday that (s)he keeps books written by male authors in the other room.

I've never heard of such an organization scheme. I've heard of sorting alphabetically, or by genre, and even chronologically. But I never would have imagined that a feminist would banish male authors to a distant corner of the house. I mean, frankly, I'm floored, but now I wonder...

I've been wondering if this is a common feminist trait, or just the quirk of one certain self-loathing individual. Is Sarah McLachlan on the shelf at eye level while Seal is in a plastic milk crate in the basement, and are these placements based on gender?

Please explain - the more convoluted, the better.

"Are men more intelligent than women?"

"Are you glad that the vast majority of airline pilots are male?"

"Do women feel deep down that they are only marginally better drivers than a five year old male?

And if so, why would these posters regularly accuse others of being sexist? Is that hypocritical?

A little bit about me, I've been married for 4 years, just started college 2 weeks ago, SAHM to 2 wonderful boys one is almost 3 and the other 15 months. Things have slowly gotten worse over the years. He has been very controlling since the beginning, I wish I had seen the signs. On Monday he head butted me right in the nose, "because he was upset", and "having a bad day". I didn't bleed but it hurt really bad, and was a little swollen for the rest of the day. I for some reason can't get over it. I got to thinking if he did it in a bar they would press charges. Ok let me back up. I've been a little quiet lately, so he knew something was wrong. Finally after he found out it wasn't school he said... is it because I head butted you? I said yeah i'm a little upset about it. Well then he mocked me about it. And after I said that about pressing charges about it then he tried to tell me he didn't. This sucks I just wish I knew what to do....

a lot of people use the "more ugly men marry hot women than vice versa" card, but isn't that just because more women are considered hot than men? if a guy is sexually attracted to a woman, that alone wouldn't make him want to marry her. it's about more that that for men, just like it is for women.

that is why women a lot of times don't marry hot guys. most men, especially over 30, are not considered hot. "hot" means they get noticed by women, women want attention from them, and they're the type women hook up with for casual sex. most women are considered hot, but sadly, very few guys are. and most of the guys who are considered hot are probably between 16-25 years old.

don't believe me? do you think their are more high school boys having the hots their female teachers or high school girls having the hots their male teachers? do you even think there are as many female students having the hots for their male teachers as female teachers having the hots for their male students?

My boyfriend recently took me to a clothing optional beach. I got quite an eyeful--my first time. I keep thinking about all those men in the all together. Do I need to experience more before I commit to my boyfriend? Is it normal to be so interested in seeing men this way?

It seems that the things men value in themselves are constantly being belittled. And I am curious who decided maleness was wrong? Men are told to embrace their feminine side but should we be forced or coerced into ignoreing our masculine side?

An answer to my previous question got me thinking about this...

For those of you who do not know, she is a teenaged golf prodigy who has made repeated attempts to qualify for the men's PGA tour (she only made cuts once, and has not advanced far in any male tournaments). She has already received contracts worth somewhere around 10 million dollars a year, but never has performed well in men's events, and she missed by 14 strokes in her last attempt to make the cut.

She gets invited to tournaments based on sponsor exemptions, which take spots away from more qualified male golfers, which upsets many people since she has not made cuts on the PGA tour, and she has recently struggled in female events.

Is she good for feminism? My reason for wondering is because she's getting these things and being allowed to compete BECAUSE she's a woman. A male golfer with her abilities would not get the same treatment. Your thoughts?

Not only do they fight any legislation that would require an ounce of truth being told to their clients seeking counseling for an unplanned pregnancy (never refer clients to adoption agencies nor tell of financial assistance for having the child, at least in my area anyway) but now they decieve town and city governments about buildings they want built? If they have nothing to hide, why are they so deceptive in their tactics down to having buildings built?

So ok all and sundry, down to you now.
You can have a site where people ask inane questions or you can have a site where people can debate.
