"Are men more intelligent than women?"
"Are you glad that the vast majority of airline pilots are male?"
"Do women feel deep down that they are only marginally better drivers than a five year old male?
And if so, why would these posters regularly accuse others of being sexist? Is that hypocritical?

None of these "questions" were questions per se, but rather statements in the form of questions, and attempted to _prove_ that women were less intelligent, etc.

So, Happy Snappy, you're saying they _are _ sexist, then? O.K.

Yes, to me they obviously are. There are 2 problems with each. 1, the way they're put is incendiary. 2, they aren't true enough to get a response.

The first question sounds inflammatory, but actually, male and later female intelligence has been studied for a long time, plus we now have multiple intelligences to argue about. I think that question will be "discussed" forever! In the past, yes it was assumed men were more intelligent than women because they had larger heads..now that discussion is coming back again. The question can be inflammatory when someone adds additional comments like, "aren't women just stupid?".
The second question also sounds sexist, but because of the military, quite a few airline pilots are male, but with the increase in female military pilots in this Iraqi war, that will change in the US. The sexist part is assuming that males are inheritly better airplane pilots, without proving if males actually have better skills or if there's just more males who have the training to be airline pilots.
The last question is sexist, since five year old males can't legally drive a car, and wouldn't have the physical capabilities that a woman would have. So they're just asking this to yank people's chains.
Some people post questions like these because they are sexist, but not mean, they're ignorant. Others post them because they are mean. Still others are just trying to be funny, and some like to stir people up and get people upset.
The ignorant get upset and call others sexist, when they are attacked, since they don't understand why anyone is mad at them "when they just asked an innocent question". The mean ones call everyone sexist, since they think everyone is against them, and the attacks from feminists are proof that women/feminists/people are hateful and evil. And yes, they are hypocrites, but it's so easy to be one. Whew, after this, I need a valium.

The one question that makes me laugh is the one about if I feel that I'm only a marginally better driver than a five year old male. That was probably asked by someone who has had many more speeding tickets and been in more accidents in the past several years than I have in my 30+ years of driving. I've only gotten three speeding tickets in all that time.

the first one is not sexist. Actually there has been a study and it turned out that men are on average by 5 IQ points smarter than women. Now it could be argued that IQ tests are geared more torwards men than women.
The second one isnt sexist at all. Its just a question, would you think its sexist to ask if you are glad that the majority of the us military is consisted by males ?
The last one is an assumption, since women dont really enter motoring competitions and therefore not much can be said about the driving skillz of the ladies.

The sexist comments don't bother me: I also feel better when a male pilot is flying my plane. We are not perfect, but u still gotta love us. By the way women also form opinions about men; largely due to their ridiculous cliche behaviors. Hope that's not a problem?

No.
Its sexist but also, almost, a valid question.
Is implying an insult and wanting confrontation or a joke to proceed it.

these questions aren't sexist, per say, but they do definitely have an ignorance about them.
it could be that these posters are angry and trying to ask the "tough questions" of sexist people.

Certainly not. They are simply questions. You cannot get at the truth if even questions are off limits. They do seem to be thinly veiled passive aggressive questions, but they remain simply questions.

Well, I know that feminism promotes sexism, so it would be usual to find sexist statements in a place in which feminism is present, but can you in some way prove that those questions are really statements. I seems pretty self evident that they are questions to me. I think the question mark on the end gives it away.
