There are 2 reasons.
1) Amoung mammals males are almost always more aggressive, which leads to dominance.
2) Men and women tend to approach problem solving from very different perspectives, logic vs emotion. The logic based approach to problem solving tends to be more effective.

I don't agree that men have necessarily 'led' all developed and undeveloped countries...there are many examples of women rulers/political leaders. But where I do see validity in your point is in the fact that men have built the society in which we now live. Things like transportation, commerce and building infrastructure have all been led by men.

The present positions of power - that is the hidden positions - like industry, the armed services and the law - are inherited by men from men. Sometimes daughters inherit like Indira and Benizir - and our Queen too. There is usually a long period of relative peace and stability in this country with a Queen, but that is not always what men want.

Because men have better heads on their shoulders. I would hate to see this country run by a woman..women tend to be impulsive. And plus it has been run by men for 100's of years..why change it now. I can only imagine a woman president with P.M.S.

I don't believe there has been a single female leader who used emotion to solve problems. If anything, I think Britain's Margaret Thatcher was colder and more logical than many male leaders. That's why she was called "The Iron Lady".

Because history, religions, and natural stupidity has given us the mindset that women are not equal to men, that they are less able to lead and command respect. For a long time, women were consider chatel, property.......they had no standing. It wasn't until the early half of the last century that we allowed them to vote in this country.
