does anybody still believe that men are pickier on looks than women?(read the whole question)?

a lot of people use the "more ugly men marry hot women than vice versa" card, but isn't that just because more women are considered hot than men? if a guy is sexually attracted to a woman, that alone wouldn't make him want to marry her. it's about more that that for men, just like it is for women.

that is why women a lot of times don't marry hot guys. most men, especially over 30, are not considered hot. "hot" means they get noticed by women, women want attention from them, and they're the type women hook up with for casual sex. most women are considered hot, but sadly, very few guys are. and most of the guys who are considered hot are probably between 16-25 years old.

don't believe me? do you think their are more high school boys having the hots their female teachers or high school girls having the hots their male teachers? do you even think there are as many female students having the hots for their male teachers as female teachers having the hots for their male students?

and it not about "women take care of themselves" either. a 30 year old man can be perfectly in shape, not short, not balding, no beard or moustache, but most likely women don't consider him hot.

btw i'm 19 and i find women in their 30s and even 40s hot. and not just celebrities, i'm talking average women. i don't know any girls my age who find guys in their 30s and 40s hot.

You sound like a very young man.What you refer to as women and men, in reality are boys and girls. Their opinions have very little affect on the world at large. The good thing is: eventually they grow up. I personally never found boys ' hot'. Men on the other hand are delicious to me ( and many other NORMAL WOMEN ).

Now about your question... Women are way more forgiving, when it comes to men's looks. That is why you see a very good looking woman with a pretty ordinary looking guy all the time. We won't waste our time on a silly airhead. To be popular with us you need: brains, a great sense of humor, charm and good manners. You also need to be successful in whatever you do... and only after all that we will judge your smile and your body... However, it is a known statistical fact that men do marry us for our looks and not much else very often. So, blame it on yourself.

i think that it has more to do with how the man treats the woman
if someone treats you good and makes you feel great than it doesn't really mater what they look like.

how someone looks does make the first impression but....
women tend to give a guy a second chance as where men tend to pass by the not so pretty girls

it also depends on the person and what is important to them.

if you look at it scientifically
men are hard wired to be attracted to looks because how else are you going to reproduce if someone is not attractive

woman are hard wired to choose a mate by how well they will be able to take care of all there needs and there offspring.
(looks have a little to do with it but care and consideration can out do looks)

so you could say that men are a little more pickier than woman because women don't look for the same things in men that men look for in woman

Maybe teenage girls don't find guys over 30 "hot," but I rarely find anyone under around 28 who I consider "hot." 28-36 is my ideal range. I'm 24. 16-25 is just too young for me. Most of my 20-something friends frequently date men who are in their 30's.

Opposite attract. If both are preoccupied with their look then who get things done around the house and they are going to fight over bathroom time...So an ugly always marry a good looking one...

My boyfriend is a fire-fighter: physically fit and very good looking...masculine and strong...he's what I definitely think of as "hot"... and he's 45!
