My friends child who is 2 has head lice. She goes to a daycare. Well, she has already treated her hair about a week ago and removed all the nits and lice. She said she got all of them out. Well, her child has been scratching her head alot and noticed that she has head lice again but not as many nits as there was before. This time there were moving lice. She treated her again last night and has noticed this morning that there were still some moving lice in her hair. She dont send her daughter to that daycare anymore. She stays with her grandmother. But she was wanting to know if she could get a different kind of treatment from the doctor and use it once she gets it. Also, she has already washed everything in her house that in washable. But the net says that she has to tie up all the stuffed animals in a airtight garbage bag for 2 weeks. She was wondering how long it would take to kill the lice and nits without being tied up and her daughter didnt touch any of them.

Tomorrow (actually today, I can't sleep) my husband and I are taking our 2 year old daughter to Disneyland for her 2nd birthday. I have heard horror stories about taking young toddlers to Disneyland, but I have also heard good stories too. She doesn't really scare easily, so I'm not too worried about that, she isn't shy, BUT she is VERY active and doesn't like to sit/stand still, even for short periods. This concerns me when it comes to waiting in line, because I know you can't bring a stroller in line. Just the other day at a bakery we had to wait in line for about 10 minutes and she didn't want us to hold her (was like pushing herself off of us) and when it came to standing in line she would for a minute or so but then got sick of holding our hands and kept trying to run off. We are strict with her, but she has a speech delay and isn't talking much yet, so it's a challenge. Any advice or suggestions for how to make our day run as smoothly as possible?? Thanks!

My toddler who recently turned 3 years old has become increasingly annoying. She wants to sleep with me and her father in the same bed, goes to bed very very late (she is still trying to play when the adults have gone to sleep), wakes up before the rooster and demands breakfast (she sleeps much less than most humans), does not allow me to close doors, she eats her mucous but wont eat anything remotely healthy, cries and whines, points out sores that are months old and demands they be kissed.

While this may seem like an attempt for attention, she already gets plenty of time together. I'm exhausted and I don't know what else to do.

I love my child but I believe I may have to start introducing other forms of discipline like smacking. Currently she has time out and I've even tried ignoring her.

I don't want to ever regret my decisions. I really need guidance from other parents with experience

A lot is going on in my family life that is not positive. I know that together we will make it though. I just keep on finding myself in tears. Today my 4 year old saw me and got very upset by it. I need advice on how not to cry when my innocent little babies are around.

Saturday we got a new puppy. Today, 3 days later, she woke up w/ red bumps on her face, red hands, feet, & legs; none on her stomach or chest and only a little bit on her lower back. She stayed at my mom's house today, who also has a dog, took some benadryl, and was fine. Tonight, at our house, she has broke out again. So... is she allergic to dogs? Or maybe just our dog? Is it possible to grow out of? What else could it be? I've haven't changed anything else.

Once my son grew too big for infant/newborn-type sleepers, I encountered a pajama nightmare. Every single pair of pajamas I find is seemingly made to fit like a second skin. The problem? My son cannot stand them. The minute I put them on, he pulls and pulls at the sleeves and the legs in such a way that it's obvious the tightness is uncomfortable for him. I do NOT understand the idiotic reasoning for the way these pajamas are made. Supposedly "snug fitting clothing is less likely to catch fire." (At least, that is explanation The Children's Place gives.) Well, I'm sorry. To me, there is a difference between "snug" fitting and so tight you feel like you're being eaten alive by a boa constrictor. Are there ANY pj's out there for toddlers (he wears 18-24 mo clothing) that are not made this way? If so, please, please tell me where I can buy them. I would be happy to order them online, if need be. They don't have to be loose, just loose enough that he can breathe.

Not a technical book about parts. Looking for a book about privacy, but not any of the books about strangers, safety, abuse...etc. My daughter is 4 and I have two younger boys...just want her to be more modest. She is good about closing the door when going to the bathroom. But occasionally when I am changing a diaper or something, she might strip down...willy nilly. In fact, at her 4th bday party, she got an outfit she liked and decided to change in front of everyone.

i just put a ? about my son who will be 2 in February. I just want to make sure there is nothing wrong with him.i know I should take him to the doctor, but my doctor always tells me he's just being a boy and I feel stupid. So just let me tell you about him and you tell me .
When he was born he failed his hearing test in 1 ear. At the three month re check he failed both ears. He eventually passed both ears. He now has a language problem, not talking. I mean I've heard him say words once or twice but he usually just babbles with odd sound s or calls everything dadada. He didn't start walking until he was 1, my first started 9 months. When he did start walking he would litterally run straight into a door, wall, person, didn't matter. Then When ever he was mad he would bang his head on to anything hard and leave huge knots. Now he's finally stopped that and started whining ALL the time. He will purposely do something bad while smilin at you. tried time out, ignoring him, whats next? HELP

That is not what I am really worried about. My husband's entire family does that. What I do wonder about is when he sits up and asks for mama, but when I come he acts like he doesn't know who I am. Most of the time you can tell he is still asleep. He does sleep walk sometimes looking for the potty or his drink. He does cry sometimes and I will sing him back to sleep. My family does have a history of night terrors. I know I need to talk to my pediatrician, but I was wondering if there are any other mother's out there that have or had this problem. I am not really that worried about it because of the family history, but I would like to know if this happens to anyone else.

At what age did you start giving your babies juice. I ask for grandmothers because I know that they did things differently years ago. I don't want any answers saying "the baby's digestive system isn't ready for juice until 6 months". My grandmother said she knew they used to give their kids juice long before that she just doesn't remember what age. Anyone remember when there kids started juice?

MY son will be 2 on February 25th. As of right now he won't wuit whining. It's all day long. No matter what I tell him he whines or cries. He used to have a habit of when he got mad he would bang his head into what ever he as next to be it floor, table, wall, or whatever. We finally got him to stop doing that a couple months ago. Ever since then he hasn't stopped this whining and crying stuff. I've tried putting him in his room for a time out and he will just throw up all over him slef. I've tried to get him to just talk to me and he just whines. I think his problem might be that he is spoiled. Does anyone know how to get him to stop whining? I have 2 other boys one older, who doesn't whine, and a younger one who gets woke up because his brother never shut up. Please Help with any advice you may to offer. Nothing rude please and no hitting or spanking.

My 3 yr old doesn't mind at all. She gets into things she has been spanked for continuously. You would think, after 1 or 2 spankings, she would learn she can't do that, but she doesn't. You can spank her, 5 mins later, she's at it again. These are things she knows she is not allowed to have. Also, she can't keep her hands to herself, always grabbing things she knows she isn't supposed to have. We have tried everything....spankings, talking to her, time outs and nothing is helping her. There are times when it gets so bad, I just feel like I can't be around her because I'm at my wits end. I feel soon, if this doesn't stop, I'm going to have a nervous breakdown.

Any ideas on where to have my son's birthday party in December? Not at my house, and no Chucke Cheese, they're too expensive for the number we're inviting.

My son is just over 13 months old, and everything is wonderful. However, in about 9 months my husband and I are going to start trying for a second child.

We have heard horror stories of parents not preparing their children properly--big brothers trying to kill young sisters (I had to witness the funeral to this one), etc. We really want to prepare our son.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Obviously at this age he isn't going to know what's going on, so we aiming for little things--like buying a toy doll maybe? We're trying to do baby steps right now, but once we are 3 months pregnant (9 months is a LONG time to wait for a little kid!), we'll start taking larger steps.

ANY advice would be greatly appreciated!
