That's great. It shows he able to concentrate for long enough to learn and you are guaranteed to be able to get things done now, you can stick on Thomas for a bit and get the ironing out of the way...BONUS!
My brother was fixated on Thomas the Tank Engine too, I remember he would cry at the closing credit, sad, but sweet!

My son has been obsessed with Thomas for 3 years now. We have hundreds of dollars worth of wooden railway stuff on his train table and every year we go to A Day Out With Thomas...check to see if it is in your area...the site lists 2006 schedule and most are past, but it comes back every year about the same time:

your son is the same age as mine:) And my son LOVES Caillou, sings the song and wants to do everything that Caillou does. Even told me he wants a sister named Rosy, which I just smile and nod because I can't have anymore kids now.

It's just a toddler thing like someone else said and when they are exposed to these shows on a daily basis why shouldn't they know all the songs, numbers, characters, and do the things that they see. Don't worry though, Thomas the Tank is a fun show and if you're like me, you just love seeing your kid learning and growing:)

Take Care~

They love the trains, colors and numbers. Plus the show is simple enough for the very young to follow. My oldest son loved Thomas and still enjoys playing with his train set from time to time. I think they relate to the selfishness of Gordon and the eager to please Thomas and the other engines! Don't complain. There are much worse things for you son to enjoy! He is after all learning colors, numbers, manners, and other great life lessons!

This is a serious affliction that is infecting our young ones. It started in England as a microscopic virus in the shape of caboose, but it has grown and mutated, coming to the US to afflict our children, usually embedding itself after a short cold or runny nose. It manifests itself in manic outbursts from the child when he sees trains anywhere - TV, along the highway, etc. - usually taking the form of a gleeful "Tmsss! Tmss!" In later stages, it also sounds like "GOH-dnn". Most medical professionals think that the virus will eventually run its course. In the mean time, it will be important for parents to avoid certain sections of toy stores and grocery aisles to keep very young children from jumping out of shopping carts and hurting themselves.

OH yeah, it's Thomas mania at my house... Isn't it amazing what they obsess over? I personally think Thomas is a bit creepy...

At least its a good honest show. Slightly annoying, yes, but decent.

Girls, lets all wish each other a Thomas Free Day! Hee Hee!

It's a toddler thing. My oldest niece is now 18 and when she was that age she had to even have a Thomas cake for her b-day. My son LOVES trains....he even does a little Choo-Choo dance when he hears the train whistle here in town.

That's great that he really likes it and has memorized all that at 2 and 1/2 years old. It's like any phase, he'll get over it. At least it is not dangerous.

I used to love Thomas too. Honestly, it's not too hard to learn all the names/numbers. Maybe he watches too much TV. Anyway, don't worry, he'll grow out of it.
