Would it be bad to go on a camping trip in the summer when you are 7 months along? would it be better to go camping in the summer while 6 months along? We always have a family camping trip in July and we are going to be trying for a baby pretty soon. I know you don't always get pregnant on your first try but we did with our first and my mother did with me and my sister and my mom's mom as well and her sister....
thanks! : )

And am looking for ways to help with speeding up labor...I know its real early but I have been to the hospital 4 times in 1 week for contractions being 2-5min apart and they admit me give me steriods for the babies lungs, then give me a shot to slow or try and stop the contractions...which works for a few hours but then my contractions are back to 2-5min apart...does anyone have any helpful advice or suggestions for me?

hey every1!!!
i got an ultrasound done so they could get the anatomy of the baby & the doctor couldnt get a profile pic to well, then she asked if i had a lot of presser on my lower belly on a regular & i said yes &that it hurts sometimes when i work or walk, so she told me the baby is Very low & she kept saying it when she was moving the thing around my belly.. she tried to move the baby by pushing it around & it wouldn't move out of where it was so she told me to go on my side & that didn't work so she pushed the thing in my belly harder to get the profile pic. she got a pic but it wasnt good enough so she gave me another appointment.
this is my first baby so i dont know whats going on. i went to my doctor & asked her what the other lady was talking about & she just looked at me in a "what u talking about" way & then told me its nothing, then i told her about the glop of thick clear mucus that came out b4 & how big it was, she said its nothing again. whats going on?

I hate to be one of those dumb girls that ask "Am I pregnant?", but I'm hoping to hear from your ladies if you have been in the same situation and whether you were pregnant or not.

Before you say, "Go to the Doc", I have an appointment for Friday (earliest available).

Okay, I'm 23 and I have a cycle that is between 28 and 31 days. I'm at 36 days since my last period now, which makes me at least 5 days late. HPT came back negative (okay, okay 4 HPT came back negative. One for each day that I was late). Now today, I have a lot of odorless white and clear discharge that i've never had before.

I'm not trying to concieve right now and this is my first pregnancy scare. Half of me thinks that it's just stress that is making me late, but the other half feels like something is way off.

Thank you in advance for answering...

Feeling nauseous most of the time. Extremely tired. Sensitive to smells. I even get car sick. Just trying to gauge when this will end. I have been feeling this way for about a month. I am 2 and a half months pregnant. What has been your experience?

I am 5 weeks pregnant, and yesterday i started bleeding. Very like bright red color. I do not have cramps at all, and its not like a period. Its pretty light, although it has lasted all day today and yesterday. I was wondering if i am still pregnant. My hgc level consistantly increased i was at over 9,000 last time they cheked. My midwife seemed negative about this pregnacy from the start I'm not sure why. My gestational sac grew, I had no cramping, only light pink spotting after intercourse. After the third ulta soud the midwife told me that my pregnancy was not valid because she did not see anything inside the sac. Has that ever happened to anyone or someone you know and turned out to have a normal pregnancy?

So, my mom kind of freaked me out today... she was talking about pre-eclampsia (she had it in 3 out of 4 of her pregnancies) and she was giving me a run-down of how she felt when she had it.

Well, my feet are constantly swollen (and i know that some swelling is normal) and my hands sometimes get tight and I can't type or hold things, and last night I was having pains in my chest... (i figured from caffiene. i had an extra cup of coffee last night, maybe not the best idea).

Well, I was trying to look up the average blood pressure during pregnancy... i know everyone is different. at most of my dr's visits it has been 120/70, and last time it was only 120/60, and i don't really know how to gauge whether that's high or low or normal. i noticed on my chart they had written something was high, but i feel slightly embarrassed when i ask too many questions about my charts. so i didn't bother to inquire...

i guess my question is how do i know if my BP is high or low?

and i am 25.5 wks pg

I've had three positive home pregnancy tests this weekend. I called my OBGYN to get in for my first appointment and to do the blood test and they said they can't get me in until September 26th. I asked if that was too far out to wait for a blood test and they said as long as I was feeling alright it should be okay. Is this true? Or should I try to find a new doctor? They said it would be good to wait because I'd be close to 8 weeks and they might be able to hear the baby's heart. I'm not sure what to do. Any advice?

Can I even wait that long? I mean, I've only told a couple of ppl, and not even my whole family, b/c I wanted to confirm at the Drs, but the entire office I want to be at is booked till 10/2, and the Dr I want to see can't see me till 10/17! Isn't that too long? I'd literally be around 11 wks b/f even seeing a DR!! Should I look elsewhere? Is her unavailability reflective of how difficult it will be in the future? thoughts, anyone? I just don't think I can wait that long!!

Ok, I'm due to have my second child next week. I am still wanting to have sex with my husband. It's like I want it more than ever right now. My husband and I got into an argument last night about it. He wasn't rude or anything. I just asked him why he doesn't want to have sex or touch me any more. He told me because it was awkward for him, and that he just doesn't like it when I'm pregnant. It really kind of hurt my feelings. I already feel like I'm unattractive. And of course I don't have the little petite body that I had before I got pregnant. It's so hard to feel sexy right now.

Why would sex be awkward for a man to have sex with his wife or girlfriend. Please if any of you guys out there can explain this to me, I'd really appreciate it.

Let me make it clear that i'm not trying to induce, i just have a question.

I visited my midwife for my 37 week check-up...she said i'm thick and closed and she'll see me at my next appointment. Is labor always a progressive thing or could i still suddenly go into active labor?

I know i should have asked her, i was just surprised. I assumed i would be at least a little dialated. Baby has dropped and i still feel great. Thanks in advance for your answers.

im currently 35 weeks and 6 days and im having a hard time deciding on whether or not i should leave my doctor's practice. well lemme give u some background. i go to magee and they have a clinic where u dont just see one doctor, u see whoever happens to be there that day (i hate that). ive been having issues this pregnancy but i had an appt last week to follow up on the baby's growth because they said that he was in the 10th percentile and has a small belly. so i didnt see the doctor i usually see, i seen someone else. she measured my belly and told me i was measuring 30 weeks when im actually 35 and im 100% about my dates. so im wondering if the other doctor was measuring me wrong the entire time. so then this doctor said that i will start getting ultrasounds every week and then i get another growth ultrasound in 3 weeks to see if he has gained weight. ive had one of this already and he was 4lbs. when i had the follow up last week he was 4lbs 14ozs. (to be continued)...

According to WebMD "Fertilization: If sperm does meet and penetrate a mature egg after ovulation, it will fertilize it. When the sperm penetrates the egg, changes occur in the protein coating around it to prevent other sperm from entering. At the moment of fertilization, your baby's genetic make-up is complete, including its sex. Since the mother can provide only X chromosomes (she's XX), if a Y sperm fertilizes the egg, your baby will be a boy (XY); if an X sperm fertilizes the egg, your baby will be a girl (XX). " so doesn't that mean you are pregnant at fertilization?
