Would it be bad to go on a camping trip in the summer when you are 7 months along? would it be better to go camping in the summer while 6 months along? We always have a family camping trip in July and we are going to be trying for a baby pretty soon. I know you don't always get pregnant on your first try but we did with our first and my mother did with me and my sister and my mom's mom as well and her sister....
thanks! : )

It's hard to say. You might feel great or crummy either time. My second pregnancy has been 10 times worse than the first and I feel awful. I had the same experience as you and got pregnant right away both times so I understand your concern. My advice is get pregnant when you feel ready and deal with obsticles as they arise instead of trying to plan around things that haven't happened yet.

It would not be bad to go camping when you are 7 months along, but it would be more uncomfortable because of all the weight you are carrying. It would be better when you are 6 months because there is a little less weight. It also depends on the heat. You don't want to go when it's too hot because pregnant people tend to get hotter. You would really have to be careful if you were 8 or 9 months along. If you do hiking, you would have to be careful, but it is also good exercise for you.

I went camping twice when I was pregnant (two different pregnancies) The biggest problem I had was being a little too hot and my feet hurt if I stood or walked too much. I still had a lot of fun. The last trip we took was to Mystic, CT. (beautiful and fun!) We had a 2 and 3 year old and I was about 7-8 months pregnant. We even drove in our conversion van that had a broken air conditioner and stayed in our pop-up trailer with only a fan. Luckily, being near the coast, it was a lot cooler. I would do it, but remember to drink a lot of water and don't walk too much. You need lots of breaks.

It depends. Are you camping out in the woods? Will you be sleeping on the ground in sleeping bags and a tent or do you have a comfy camper with real beds? What kind of water source will you have? Will you be somewhere with running tap water or are you dependent on streams and purifying tablets? What about bathrooms? I'm almost 30wks now and let me tell ya, without a bathroom nearby I wouldn't be thinking about it that's for sure. You also need to consider what kind of food you can carry with you. If you've got portable refridgeration that's great, but if not, you really don't need to go on a diet of tin canned foods and dried stuff. It's just not good for you or your baby. There's alot to consider. Also if you plan to change altitude that's something else to think about. Then there's keeping hydrated and cool(you get really hot when you are pregnant and it can be unbearable). I personally wouldn't do it, but I'm not huge on camping anyway.

i would just get pregnant first and think about your camping trip when you know for sure, you can go camping at either 6 or 7 months pregnant though,as long as you take it easy and be as comfortable as possible, good luck in trying

It would depend on how well the pregnancy is going. If there are no problems, than I cannot see a thing wrong with camping.

But if it is even a low risk pregnancy then I would pass up on the camping.

Unless you end up as a high risk pregnancy it'd be fine. You dont want to go if you're going to be hiking more than usual or something. But otherwise it would be fine. I did all sorts of that stuff while pregnant.

It doesn't sound like a problem to me. Just be weary of the heat, drink PLENTY of water, talk to your doctor about recommended bug repellents, and be careful of drinking or swimming in contaminated water.
Other than that, have fun!!
Just talk to you doc. That's what they're there for!
