I don't know if my babys feet are larger than normal but they seem big... we have 0-3 month socks that are too small and some 0-6mos that fit just right and she is only 6 wks. I have another pair of 0-2 month socks that fit normal with a little room...??? Are they supposed to stretch out or snug?

What do you think?

My husband and I have a small 2 bedroom apartment and live right next to the hospital I will be delivering at. He is saving up his vacation time to take a week off when the baby is born to help me.

It sounds like most woman have had their mothers helping them. I would love for my mother to help me, but she works and there would be no place for her to sleep.

My husband and I will be fine on our own? Or should I plan on making accomendations for the first week...??

I've noticed with children .. the boys tend to resemble the moms and the girls tend to resemble the dads? is this usually the case? [I've noticed it with my friends children]

[my son is only 4 months old, and it's hard to tell which parent he resembles more because my husband and I both have blonde hair and blue eyes ...]

I'm just wondering, what sex is your baby/child?
And does it look more like Mommy or Daddy?

*just curious :]

My daughter is 4 weeks and she stays awake from about 1am to 8am. She does not even close her eyes (except to blink of course) or act sleepy. And as soon as my eyes close, she screams. She wont let me put her down during that time either, but will during the day. She can amuse herself, but like I said, as soon as I close my eyes, she screams a lot! I know babies do not sleep through the night, but I did not know that some can stay awake for 7 hours straight. We have tried everything (the only thing that works is swaddling her and putting her on her boppy pillow, but since that is not safe, we do not do that anymore. Tried once). I have asked her pediatrician but she said that there is nothing we can do to make her sleep, of course. I had to quit my job because I cannot stay up for 7 hours at night to turn around and do full time work and full time school and home school a child with bipolar . This has been rough. Any suggestions??

I have low blood sugar and on occasion my daughter will get hungry when I am eating. I tried propping a bottle today while she sat in her carrier. I sat in front of her and finished my meal. I use the ready to feed bottles so I am lucky to just be able to throw a new nipple on one and give it to her. So anyways, I sat right in front of her, finished my meal and watching her eat. I did this because I was afraid to hold her while my blood sugar was down and I was too shaky. I then quickly ate and picked her up to finish the feeding. Is this ok to do in ONLY this situation (I would never do it for another reason, I love the bonding time)???

My 4 week old daughter chokes every time she nurses or takes a bottle...she has since she was born. The doctor says its due to acid reflux, but it seems more than that.

Has anyone else had this happen?

My son was born at 38 weeks on September 2nd and was 5 lbs. 5.7 oz. and 19 inches (Natural Birth). I was so surprised he was so little! Mid-October he was 9 lbs. and 2 oz. and 22.5 inches. The doctors had no reason for his low weight. I just will like to hear other women stories! Thanks in advance for sharing :)

I would like to get my Dr. a Thank you Gift! Something like a Edible Arrangement, but his Jewish and I'm not good with all that Kosher stuff. How about a bottle of wine? What is the right gift....

There is 5 oz of water in my baby's bottle, but by the time I add formula, it is 6 oz. So how much is he really drinking, 5 or 6 oz? Its really important that I keep track of how much he eats, because he's a preemie, and doesn't much care for eating. Thanks.

I was just doing some reading on the net, and it says that only 36% of mothers breastfeed for up to 6 months, and only 17% for up to a year. Although at the hospital, more than half of mothers start out wanting to breastfeed. I wonder why it drops so much. I also wonder what we could do to help, so mothers can continue to nurse their little ones longer.

Thanks in advance for sharing.

I am due in 5 weeks. I just had some questions. Just random things that popped into my head.

1. After breast feeding, did or does everyones breasts get smaller than they were before pregnancy? Do they always sag afterwards? and how many people got stretch marks on their breasts?

2. After the baby is born, I know you cut the umbilical cord and it dies and falls off the baby in time, but what happens to the part attached to mom? does it come out with the placenta? or do you wait for it to die and fall off as well?

3. When the baby is born, and you breastfeed them your pre milk or colostrum, how are you sure they even got any of it? I read that it is only like a tablespoon at a time, will i know or did you know when the baby recieved it?

4. I have read that you burn more calories when you breastfeed, did it help you loose your baby weight fast? I have also read about a lot of weight coming off in the first two weeks after birth, was this true for you?

my 6 month old caught a slight cough from me since saturday but he's totally fine -happy, sleeping well and eating. I introduced sweet potato to him yesterday morning and it was a little too thick for his liking so he gagged on it, which he's done when the cereal was too thick so I added formula but even after i thinned it out a lot he still gagged so i gave up. Last night and today in the morning I tried giving him his usual cereal and he's been gagging on every bite no matter how much i thinn it out - it's practically the consistency of his milk! Is it due to his cold? Did I traumatize him? Should I try giving him something he's used to like green beans? I don't know whats wrong with him he usually loves whatever I give him

My 5 month old daughter has bad chest congestion, and a horrible cough. I've been using a vicks vaporizer and am wondering if that is the reason for the sudden productive cough........ She has had a dry hacking cough off and on for the past couple days but only since last night has it gotten worse. I have been using ONLY vapor rub (infants of course) until last night because my son was badly sick and needed it in his room. I can't win for losing... lol.. But anyhow, is it the cause for the productive cough? Is it safe to use with such a small child? I have only had it on for a total of a couple hours. And she also has pimply bumps on her chest and cheeks... Could that be a reaction from the vapor rub?? Her appointment with the doctor is in 2 hours, but I just wanted to get some opinions from other people... Thank You!!!

So here is the scenario, our baby of 8 months is not sleeping past 3:30ish. He goes to bed at 7:30PM and goes through till 3:30AM. At that time he does not go to bed you can let him cry and he will not stop till we go pick him up and bring him in the bed. My wife since he was 3-4 months been taking her in the bed with her after he wakes up around 5-6ish but now its 3:30AM and that is it. We are both getting very frustrated as we can not sleep, when he goes in the bed with my wife he just tosses and turns. I need some ideas people and please email mbeurekjian@hotmail.com with any other questions or details needed. Thanks in advance.

My daughter will be going in for her two month check-up and shots soon, and I am very concerned. For any of you who have been through this, how bad do the shots seem to hurt the babies? And how bad do they feel afterwards, and for how long? I am not trying to be a wimp, but I sure feel like one...I will probably cry more than she will!! Any helpful info or advice? Thanks!!
