My 12 month old has been vomiting a lot lately and I can't figure out the cause. I took him for his 1 year appt and the doctor did not seem worried. Whenever I try to put him down for naps (for about 2 weeks now), even when he's asleep, he will wake up, start crying hysterically, and vomit. Is he crying because he's in pain and this leads to the vomiting, or is he making himself vomit? I am so frustrated and sad and I don't know what to do. I had hoped the doctor would have some answers, but again, he didn't seem worried at all. He said to try gas drops and antacid. I did and neither seem to work. Is this a phase he'll grow out of? Should I ignore him when he does this? I have never been good at the crying it out method and this is just torture. But he won't nap!!! And sometimes he won't go down at nighttime without crying and vomiting, too. This is happening at least once a day. Help!!!

For months my baby was fine with the normal diaper wipes. But recently she started getting diaper rash. If we skip the wipes and instead rinse her after every change she is fine. The wipes are non-allergenic, but give her a rash anyway.

Washing her after every change is a solution but it is much harder than the wipes.

Does anyone know of wipes that would be gentler - or is a cream a better solution?

Thank you for the help. Have a great day.

my 8 month old eats twice, sometimes 3 times what my 2 yr old eats. He eats sometimes 2 cups of cream of wheat, or oatmeal, for breakfast and then screams for more. If someone is eating, he goes to them and screams to be fed again. Its like he doesn't get full, no matter what he eats or how much
.
Is this normal ? And how would i stop it if not??

Alright our son is 4 months, he will be 5 months on the 15th. He had his 4 month shots on tuesday, and now hes been screaming, crying, and having many dirty loose diapers. This never happened with his 2 month shots, so im starting to think its not from his shots! Im wondering if he could be teething. When he was about 3 months he started drooling and chewing on everything, and now that hes almost 5 months maybe they are going to be popping through soon? What are the symptoms of teething OR has anyone had these symptoms after shots? Ive been giving him tylenol every 4-6 hours. Lastnight he was awake from 1am-4am just crying, nothing would calm him down!!! Im not sure whats going on with him. Maybe a touch of the flu? THANKS!!!

I am 38 wks pregnant with my first baby and we (my husband and I) had planned, or rather wished to have a girl first for many reasons one of which was that he being the last child in his family has all his senoir siblings having girls as first child and did not want to be different. So we had always refered to the baby as a girl only to find out from ultrasound scan that the baby is a boy! How would you advise I take the news and what would u do if u were in my shoes?

I gave birth almost 7weeks ago. I breastfeed exclusively, but I was told to take a break from it for 5 days and supplement with formula for another 5 days. But the last 4 weeks I was exclusively breastfeeding again. Today I noticed a twinge in my right lower abdomen. I am assuming it is my uterus because it increases a bit while nursing my baby. I am not in real pain (otherwise I would be at the doctor's) but would like to know if it is possible that my period is about to come. The lochia is as good as gone too (it isn't even enough anymore to stain a pantyliner) How is that first period after birth? Is it more painful, heavier or lighter? And can I use tampons again or should I wait a few periods before using them again? Will a period affect the quality of my breastmilk?

My husband and I live in Australia, and we need some general tips, on how to and what to do in regards to our baby daughter's christening, as we dont have family to help us through the process...

For example:

* Do we need to register it?
* How far in advance do we need to book it?
* How much does it cost?
* WHAT DO WE DO?

Ok, I picked up smoking again and I know it is a bad habit. For anyone who responds with "Don't smoke", "Your child will die" or anything of that silly nature will just be ignored and laughed at, I'm sure. Anyways, So my question is, is there anything else I can do to help my 3 week old be safe from smoke exposure? Here is what I do now:
1. When my husband or son is watching or holding her, I go outside and across street to smoke.
2. I take coat and over shirt off and put in bag that stays in back yard.
3. I go in and brush teeth, scrub hands and arms and fingernails with hospital scrubby that the Hospital gave us.
4. I change the rest of my clothing.
5. I never smoke around her, and we would never smoke in home.
I only smoke about 2 cigs a day and the extra things I do are not a problem or hassle for me. Is there anything else I could do??

How important is it to have a breast pump? I will be at home with my baby every day. Will I need one if I will be around my child 24-7? It's my first...obviously. Also, how much should I spend on one if I need one?

Okay, since we can't really put anything in the crib with the baby such as blankets, pillows, etc. because of SIDS then how is a baby supposed to keep warm? Currently, we keep our baby in the snuggle nest, with a sleep positioner, while swaddled.. and with a blanket up to his waist. He obviously can't move or roll over on his own yet (2 month old) but what about when he goes into the crib? What can be placed with him to keep him warm?
Thanks.
