It was a little heavier for me after childbirth but it just depends on the person I think...I should wait on using tampons since your va jay jay is still kinda reconstructing...Im not sure if your period would effect the amount of breast milk you produce, I suggest eating well and healthy .

As long as there are no health issues relating to this you should be fine. Just remember that everyone is different so everybodys body will react in different ways. I have given birth twice and never had any problems. I just went right back to the way I was before. If you aren't sore at all and a tampon feels comfortable then go ahead and use it. I have never heard of any mothers milk being affected by her period. but if you are really concerned you could always just call your doctor and ask over the phone or at your next appointment.
Congratulations on your new baby!!!

The break from breastfeeding and then the restarting will cause your uterus to recommence contractions, I know it took a couple of months before they stopped while breastfeeding. Your period my not be on the way, but it is really hard to tell. I think you can use tampons with your first period after birth, but if it is only a couple of months since you gave birth you may feel like the tampon is going to fall out if you use them. If you don't get a period for 6 months or more it will be fine you can use them without feeling like they will fall out. My first period after giving birth was light and scanty and didn't hurt, but the second one OMG I thought I was bleeding to death, but it can take a while for your body to adjust. Your milk shouldn't dry up but may be a bit light on for a few days, and baby might not like the taste of hormone laced milk. But if they are hungry enough is shouldn't matter.
Hope that helps

The period will absolutly not affect your breastmilk!! The period is usually quite light because of all the bleeding straight after the birth, however, can be different for different people. I take it you have recently started being sexually active again ( because there is a 5 week "waiting period" after birth) which could explain the movement in your tummy, so that rules another pregnancy out.I believe it could most certainly be your uterus getting smaller. And yes you can use tampons now, as long as it does not hurt you. I hope you enjoy your little bundle.

When a woman breastfeeds her uterus contracts and it is sometimes known as 'after birth pains' . It is just your uterus contracting back to its original size and does not necessarily mean that you are getting your period. If you are only b/f the chances of getting your period back so soon are slim to none.
I would say its just your after pains and it will go away in the next few weeks. Oh and by the way, your after pains get worse with each pregnancy so you have more to look forward to!
congrats on baby

I have far less PMS than I used to. When your period starts can vary a lot, and it takes time before it gets to be regular again. I personally don't like tampons, but if you are willing to get up close and personal with them, that's probably ok. At 7 weeks I wasn't letting anyone or anything near me. I've heard that menstruating can change the taste of your milk, but it has never bothered my daughter.

I have the feeling that I heard my mom talking about this once, she said she didn't have any pain either, but she still went to the doctor and something was a matter, so I would go just to be safe, sorry I couldn't help very much though, I am only 14. =P

It sounds like your period could be coming back. It is likely to be much the same as your pre-pregnancy periods. If it is significantly more painful, you may want to mention it to your doctor. If your lochia has stopped and your tears/episiotomy (if you had one) has healed, you can go ahead and use a tampon. Your period will not affect the quality of your breastmilk.

you can become pregnant as soon as you give birth. in fact your hormons are still high so it increases your risk of bocoming pregnant. go take a test and consult your doctor if you have other symptoms because getting pregnant so quickly could be dangerous!
