my 8 month old eats twice, sometimes 3 times what my 2 yr old eats. He eats sometimes 2 cups of cream of wheat, or oatmeal, for breakfast and then screams for more. If someone is eating, he goes to them and screams to be fed again. Its like he doesn't get full, no matter what he eats or how much
.
Is this normal ? And how would i stop it if not??

I'd contact your pediatrician. They say a baby can't overeat, but if he has a metabolic problem or if he's eating out of boredom, that can be a problem. Two year olds don't eat much--they tend to be at the stage where they are picky and like controlling what goes in. I'd definitely take him to get checked out.

I don't think you can really compare a constantly growing 8 month old's eating habbits to a struggling to be independent and sometime finicky 2 year old. If your baby is asking for food, by all means, feed him, just be sure not to fill up on food like oatmeal because fruits and vegtables are very important in baby's diet. If this is a preference issue, find a fruit and/or vegetable he likes, serve it before oatmeal to decrease odds of refusal.

I would talk to your pediatrician about this. There is a condition, i am not sure of the name, but it is where people can literally eat themselves to death. They are always hungry and never satisfied or full. There is something in your body that tells your brain when you have had enough and you are full. With this condition your brain never recieves this message. So, it may not be him still hungry or that he hasn't had enough to eat, it may be that his brain is not receiving this message. I would definatly ASAP talk with his pediatrician. There isn't a cure for this you just have to really monitor their food intake. In some cases, the food in the house has to be hidden because they will eat and eat even if their body can't fit anymore. This condition is very fustrating not only for the person it is affecting but the parents or care taker as well. Because they don't feel full even after they ate four or five servings of something, it isn't their fault. I wish you and your family luck.

two cups really does seem excessice.maybe you started him on table food too early may baby is nine months old and she still dosen't eat table food she is eating a mixture of gerber 2nd and 3rd foods and gerber multi grain rice and she never cries for more.you really should talk to your doctor because i watched a talk show the other day and kids can eat too much i seen a woman with a two year old kid that weghed like 200lbs.you should keep him from eating so much just tell him no and put him in his play pim with a bottle or whatever you feed him and if he dosen't want that then let him cry tough love but he will get over it!!

is he heavy for his age? i have to say that sometimes two year olds are a funny bunch. they seem to survive on air alone sometimes. i would gage his eating on his physical health rather than his siblings appetite. every baby is different. maybe he's burning off complex carbs like crazy and is needing more of the veggies and proteins. if he's heavy for his age consult your doc regarding meal planning for his needs.

They say children can't over eat. But if it seems excessive or he is having a weight issue then call a pediatrician

Do not pacify your baby with food. When the baby cries do not feed just to make them quiet. It could be that you should start feeding with something more filling (solid food) to make digestion take longer.
