Okay, since we can't really put anything in the crib with the baby such as blankets, pillows, etc. because of SIDS then how is a baby supposed to keep warm? Currently, we keep our baby in the snuggle nest, with a sleep positioner, while swaddled.. and with a blanket up to his waist. He obviously can't move or roll over on his own yet (2 month old) but what about when he goes into the crib? What can be placed with him to keep him warm?
Thanks.

Get a few sleep sacks they are warm fleece material pjs that have arms but, look like a sack at the bottom... They are wonderful and really warm ! My children loved them and you do not need to use a blanket. They are available at most retailers... Good luck

I am due soon with a baby, and I was planning on putting him in a body suit, then pajamas, and then swaddling him in a flannel blanket or two. This way the baby will be warm, but not hot, and you don't have the issues of loose blankets. If its a really cold night, make sure you use fleece or flannel pjs instead of the light weight cotton ones.

Yes a blanket is fine. Just don't get a really fluffy one or one like a comforter. They have things called Sleep sacks. Its like a blanket that the baby wears. Google it. I put my son in thick footie PJ's, and he has a blanket on. When he was small I would put him in lighter footie pj, swaddle and cover with a thicker blanket. Also keep the temp in your house above 74 and the baby should be OK.

You can get baby sleeping bags, which are quite popular during the winter months, you can put layers on your baby and then the baby sleeping bag over the top. By using a baby sleeping bag your baby won't have the chance of getting caught under any blankets. See the article at http://www.ebabycentre.com/articlessafesleeping.htm
Make sure you choose a baby sleeping bag with ventilation holes down the bottom, and that it has a low fire danger.

Warm Pajamas and a sleep blanket. It's a blanket they wear.
You can find them anywhere. I bought one at Target. Most are one size fits all. (Up to 12 or 18 months)

Just put him in really warm pajamas (maybe with a onesie underneath) or you can buy these sleeping sacks that go on like pajamas to keep them warm. The space heater and closed door are both not recommended for fire concerns and SIDS concerns.

They have both blanket sleepers (with feet) and zip up blankets that you can use--like a sleep sack. You put on the sleep sack over the baby in his regular jammies, and zip it up from the bottom (so they can't unzip it.) We love it!
