I had the same problem with our son. Even the sensitive wipes bothered him. I switched to using wet paper towels- a good brand like bounty. I could wet some of them and put them in the wipe warmer. Make sure you wet them individually because they are hard to seperate when wet. Keep using desitin and the wet paper towels. Make sure you dry their bottom well before applying desitin. In a week or two after their skin has had time to heal you could try to switch back. Sounds like the culpriate may be teething. My son always gets a rash when he is getting new teeth. Anyway, hopefully this helps and your little one will be better in no time! Good luck!

It's the chemicals in the wipes that are causing this. Have you switched to sensitive wipes? There really is no reason to even have wipes, other than convenience. You can simply use a warm wash cloth on her instead and this definitely sounds like a better solution since she gets no reaction when you rinse her off. Why not stick to that instead?
Since she has a diaper rash at the moment, try to let her air out as much as possible. Give her an hour or so without a diaper a day, and try some diaper rash cream. I use Bodreaux Butt Paste and love it.

I'd start using the cloth ones like these: http://www.wildflowerdiapers.com/catalog.php?category=29
or just buy some baby washcloths from walmart/target like I did.
you can use just warm water at home, and for on the go use a home made solution that will be far gentler than any boxed chemical soaked baby wipe
solution recipes: http://www.diaperjungle.com/diaper-wipes-recipes.html
I'm not a cloth diaper user, nor a cloth wipes user... BUT when my daughter had a yeast rash all the wipes they have availabe on the market were too harsh. So we just bought some cheap baby wash cloths and used warm water while at home, and while we were out I had 2 plastic zipper baggies of soaked wipes, one w/ a little soapy (Aveeno baby wash) water for washing, another w/ plain water for rinsing, and a 3rd empty one for storing the used ones... when I got home or while at home, I kept them in a dry pail and washed them every other day. Since I didn't buy special ones, I didn't have to worry about using certain detergents or bleach ruining their absorbency like w/ cloth diapers, so I just washed them once w/ a lot of soap and a little bleach, then washed them a 2nd time like I would any load of laundry.

You can make homemade wipes that are more gentle.
Roll of heavy paper towels (like Bounty) - Cut in half.
2 cups warm water
2 tablespoons baby oil
2 tablespoons baby wash
Put in a container with lid large enough to fit. Add solution and turn upside down and make sure paper towels are fully saturated. Remove cardboard centre and pull wipes as needed from the middle.
There are different recipes out there for the solution, you can even leave out the baby wash if it's irritating. It should be mild enough and more convenient than washing after every change.
Good luck!

We don't use wipes unless we're out. Then, it's the "Seventh Generation" wipes, which are pretty low on the lousy ingredients. Not perfect, though, but worth a try.
At home we use washcloths. We bought a huge pile. The laundry is really not that big a deal.
You could also try, while out, a good sturdy brand of paper towel soaked in water and stored in a zip-lock bag. Or these things: http://www.towtabs.com/
Seriously, commercial wipes are kinda lousy. I wouldn't want to use them on MY bottom; I have no idea why there's anything in there beyond water.

use the pampers sensitive... NOT the one that says with Aloe.
Huggies brand is too harsh.
the best way to keep the rash away is to make sure they are completely dry after wiping, before putting on a new diaper. Let them air out a bit.

We tried the Huggies sensitive and our daughter still had a rash. The only wipe that works is Pampers Sensitive. We used Butt Paste to get rid of the rash.

Use the "sensitive" wipes. That should help. I believe they are Huggies Natural Care Sensitive Skin Wipes. They may be Pampers, I can't remember which of the two was our sensitive and which was our regular. Good luck! Try organic wipes from your local health food grocery store (Whole Foods--Trader Joe's may have some, too!).

Try using a warm washcloth instead of the wipes. You could also try making your own baby wipes. You can find out on how to make your own wipes by doing a search engine search. You may also want to try using those natural wipes(Seventh Generation makes some).

Both my daughters had that problem, the only thing that works for us is Pampers Sensitive wipes, and Aquaphor diaper cream
