I figured after labor I could spoil myself- so I packed Oreo double stuff's (and boy were they good!) and salt and vinegar chips. I also had some slim jim's in there.
Not healthy, I know, but after 2 days in labor I felt like I could eat whatever the heck I wanted!

I just had my son 3 weeks ago. I packed a backpack. I put in it, a hygiene bag, something to read (but you won't have the time... pack it just in case), a black pen to fill out the birth certificate information, your going home clothes for you (make sure they're baggy and comfortable), one set of nursing pads (at least), sanitary pads (you'll need at least one for the road), slippers (in case your feet are swollen), a baby diaper bag, the baby's go home outfit, a thin blanket, a thicker blanket, a baby bottle (just to have it), a couple of diapers, a thin package of wipes (they let you take home the leftover diapers and wipes, that the hospital provides you, if your kid has any leftover), probably some baby ointment and don't forget the formula (enfamil with lipil, was always best for my kids... it has the yellow wrapper on it). It sounds like a lot, but it's actually not that much. Don't take in much more than that because they will likely want your ride to bring in the car seat, so they know it's ok. The only other thing you might want, is a credit or debit card, if you want those hospital pictures, but those usually suck. I hope this helped. :) PS- I almost forgot... don't forget the camera like my dad did when I was born. Otherwise, your kid might end up insisting for years, that they were adopted, lol.

While in labor most hospital will only let you eat ice chips. But if you mean after the baby is born, then take whatever, you like and will stay fresh.
I think I would take some crackers , fruit and maybe my favorite snack size chips or cookies.

Maybe some saltine crackers. You aren't going to feel much like eating when you are in Labor !! Now AFTER you have brought your "Miracle" into this world, you will probably be starving. Have your Husband or whom ever bring you something Great. Hospital food isn't the greatest food !!! Good Luck w/ your labor and Delivery !!!

When I was labor I was allowed to have gingerale/ice chips/saltine crackers/hard candy. After labor I was allowed to have whatever I wanted to. I felt like I had the flu my tummy was really upset. I brought with me a lot of crackers, some chips, fruit bars, things like that. For hubby he just went down the vending machine or stopped by home and got what he wanted. If you are planning on BFing bring things that are high in protein to help yourself out. That night after I delived I got some sweet and sour chicken from takeout and it didn't taste good. My order of egg drop soup was better. It all depends on you. I would bring some bland snacks incase you end up feeling icky, then bring whatever. Best of luck sweetie!

I took a few of my favoite protein bars (Cliff Bars are good). You will get hungry all through the night and the hospital cafeteria is not open all night. You will probably need lots of iron as well so the other suggestions are great also. The hospital had some cheese sandwiches made for the moms and the nurses would bring me one or two each night also. Check when you get there to see if they have something.

You can pack some snacks for your hubby. You wont be able to eat. If and when your water breaks.... give your self some time. Take a shower if you feel like it (it'll be a day or so before you get one) pick up around the house and GET SOMETHING TO EAT! you wont be eating for a while. By the time you get to the hospital things will be coming along and you'll be fine. Good luck.

none for you... you won't be able to eat nor will you want to. Take snacks for your husband or whoever is going with you. On rare occasions your doc will allow you to eat some crackers or something small and light... but the emptier your stomach is the better.. for afterwards my hospital MADE me order 3 meals a day to be sure that I was eating enough. I was super hungry after my daughter was born of course my husband was eating wendys and having a frosty... pissed me off... anyways... I didnt take any food with me at all. And my hospitals food was awesome I would go eat there as a restaurant.. they had the most amazing chocolate cake!!! good luck

You may not feel like eating when you are in labour; to be honest, I think your digestive system just shuts down to allow your body to concentrate on the big job! Also, some hospitals don't encourage snacking in labour, incase there may be a call for anaesthia for an urgent C section.
Some other answerers have suggested boiled sweets, or glucose barley; sips of a sports drink might also help - a non-fizzy one, and grapes are great for tiny nibbles.
Best of luck for the big day!

You can take snacks for you, I'm sure you'll be hungry AFTER labor, and hospital food isn't the greatest. So of course take snacks for your hubby, but for you too. Dried fruit, trail mix, favorite candy bar (incase you want to indulge), favorite chips, take some water/powerade, those little packages of cheese and crackers, just snacks that you like. Goodluck and congrats!
Oh and take some hardcandy for when your in labor. You CAN have hard candy.
