This is normal, not a big deal. I think the Dtap vaccine is the worst for this, it might take a few weeks to dissolve, don't panic.

Again totally normal, dont worry a bit! My twins got their year shots the other day and both of them have knots from it! I was slightly worried so I asked my professor (who happens to be a physician) and she said no biggie, the shots they give them on their thigh of course Intramuscular (into the muscle) and certain medications do not disperse immediatley. She said dont worry a bit about it, its totally normal!

It's just from the medicine. Some of the vaccines cause harder knots than others. Like how Tb vaccine causes a bump on your arm. Its just the vaccine.

100% normal. Happens to every baby that gets vaccines.

sorry-but do u really think that its ok that your kids get unexplained knots after getting a shot. I mean, really, what causes the knots. Is it inflammation of the muscle tissue? I'd like a better answer than "it normal".

It's absolutely normal. It's from the medication. In a couple of days they start to disappear. What I do with my kids, I gently massage the area to break up the medication from that area and put and icepack on it to reduce the pain.

Sounds like the medicine did not disperse......warm the area and massage......get it moving. If any redness continues, the knots do not go away in another day, fever, etc.....get to the Dr.!

Were you in the room when they gave him the shots? When my son had his he always got them in his legs...in his thighs. Call the doctor and find out if that is where they gave him the shots.

It's from the shots don't worry. But I would suggest rubbing or massaging them. Both my girls went thru this and thats what their doctor told me 2 do.
