I am 16 weeks pregnant and have awful acid reflux. I've tried Tums, Malox, and Mylanta but they do nothing for me. Anybody out there know of any alternatives? Please advise!
(also have tried white milk and chamomille)

What is the best way to put a baby down for a nap. Currently, my 1.5 month old falls asleep wherever I am during the day but I'd like to start him on a nap routine. What's the best way to go about doing this. It's difficult getting him to go down in his crib or bassinet.

Why?

Are there any independent research studies that have found a link between vaccination in children and illnesses such as autism and others?

Those who are opposed to child vaccinations - do you believe that all vaccinations are unsafe or just certain ones? If so, which?

my son is a little over 4 months old and he weighs 19 pounds but he is really long, in his infant seat his feet touch the seat of the car so we bought a convertible seat and it is backwards facing and hes fine in it but he would be more comfortable if if was forward facing, he is fine sitting straight up and has very good head control, is it ok to go ahead and turn the carseat to face forward?

I , myself, am a little miffed that they're doing it. They say they are safe and the only problem is that parents are overdosing their kids and I agree 100% with that. My kids need cold medicines. I wont stand by while my 15 month old is coughing and sneezing and sniffling all day and night and not sleeping or eating when I could have given her the correct kind and correct dose of cough and cold medicine so she could eat and sleep thru the night comfortably. Medicines doses are determined by weight most times and that's how it should be. That's just my opinion.

My baby is 2 mnths now . She wakes up every 2-3 hours to feed. I want to take an important exam when shes around 6 months old. I wont have any help at that time and i dont plan her to send to day care. What will be a typical routine with a 6 mnth old? Also they start semisolids at that time is it too difficult in the starting? Typically how many times they feed...? How much they sleep? I know every baby is different but more replies gonna me a fair idea.

My son is turning one and had his last shots at 3 months. For some reason my insurance was cancelled and open enrollment is coming this month for insurance from my job. I plan on taking him right away to get caught up. Is this possible even though he is off schedule?

My baby has been happily eating solids for a month and has been eating a good variety of foods and was on 3 meals a day.
The last few days he has refused to eat anything.
His front 2 death are coming through. Do you think it's related to his refusal to eat?
He's happy in himself and sleeping well. The teeth don't seem to be causing him pain.

Any other ideas why it might be?

I'm not worried about it, and don't make a fuss about it. I'm just wondering why he's gone from eating such a lot to eating nothing.

Initially before the umbilical cord fell off when you gave bath to your new born baby, did you give a full wash or just a sponge bath? And also did you apply something on the umbilical cord for it to heal? If so what was it?

Until how many months did you swaddle your little bundle of joy? They look cute when they get swaddled. But some babies feel comfortable and a few dont. How about your baby? I basically feel swaddling the baby makes one handle the baby more easily. Care to share your views? :-) Thanks!

He can say "mama" "dada" "uhoh" and "mmmo"(for a cow). My family is constantly asking me if he is talking more and telling me that he has speech problems because of his limited vocabulary. I am worried that he is not developing at a rate that is normal for 19 month old children. Is this normal development for his age? Will he have to go to a speech pathologist?

My son is six months old now, and I'm back to my pre-prego weight, but I still have really bad stretchmarks on my stomach, they were so deep and red at first, they are fading, but are still pretty noticeable. And oh my god my hair! Two weeks ago it started falling out like crazy and doesn't seem to want to stop!

We want to send our child to China with our grandparents from age 7 months to age 11 months. My parents (white) think that we are crazy. I think that thier arguements are mostly emotional though. I have not seen any studies that prove there are any bad effects of sharing the child-raising responsibilities. Also, I much prefer my loving grandparents to raise my child as oppossed to sticking him in daycare for 10 hours a day.

My dad mentioned "attachment theory", and I read up on that a little. It is all theory though, and nothing seems proven. Can anyone point me to a study that compares the IQ, weight, height, happiness, etc (anything) of children raised with grandparents vs. parents?

I know that grandparents rraising children is also much more common in Asian and African socities than in America. Does anyone have statisitcs on how common this is in each society in the world? Thanks you!

I'm just curious. How come when it comes to shopping things for the baby it's always the mom that picks out the cute silly stuff? I'm not being stereotypical I'm just realizing this.
I designed baby t-shirts in college and my I love daddy shirts always sold but never my i love mommy shirts. I'm assuming the moms were the ones buying them. In the store i work we have silly baby shirts and it's always moms looking at the shirts, next to never dads. Plus whenever I go shopping for my niece my mom and I are always thinking how cute one thing is for her while my dad and brother keep thinking, she's in infant she's not going to care.
I'm just curious why is that?

My baby is 7 weeks old. I am breastfeeding. However, no matter how much water I drink or how often I breasfeed, sometimes I dont have enough milk to satisfy him and I have to supplement with formula. I really want him to be drinking more breastmilk then formula. Is there anything I can take, eat or drink that will increase my milk supply?

I'm 12wks pregnant with my 3rd child, and am considering cloth diapers for this one. My other kids are almost 4 and almost 2, and we used disposables with them. I can see how if you choose wisely, you can save a lot of money this route and really the extra laundry is not a big deal. My concern is the flushing/rinsing of the diapers on demand with two other very active children underfoot. I see you can buy flushable liner cloths, which may be a solution. I'm also torn between using a service that provides prefolds (which of course I could buy covers for), or getting the all-in-ones and washing myself. I would really like to hear from people that have multiple children, especially close together, about their thoughts on cloth diapers and the logistics of how they make them work. The only people I have talked to personally about this have only one baby - and no offense, but cloth diapering one baby is really no big deal.

I called the doc. and he told me to switch his formula to enfamil. I dont really feel comfortable switching to that, so does anyone have any suggestions?

My daughter is almost 7 weeks old and has been sleeping in the same bed with me and my husband. In a few months my husband is going to deploy and be gone for over a year. I know during this time my daughter will sleep with me. I was just wondering if it would be a waste of time to try and make her sleep in her crib during the next couple months. Yes I do know I should have made her sleep in her crib to start out with. I tried the bassinet and she hated it. Also I am breast feeding and it is easier to have her right next to me. I also have to be up by 0430 to be at work by 0630.
