That's only natural, don't be concerned. It's just like if you had a scab on your knee & you rubbed it & some scab came off, it would still be a bit raw & may bleed. Just make sure you keep the area well cleaned as you don't want your bubs to get any nasty infection, & also make sure it gets enough air so it can dry properly & heal.
Regards, Starlet..

Congrats! You can now give her a real bath! Sounds like maybe the diaper irritated the new skin, but if it is healed over now shouldn't be a problem. Just keep it clean and if the diaper sits on top of it, put some Vaseline on it to cut down on the chaffing and rubbing.

That's normal. Just be sure to keep the diaper folded down below the belly button and try to keep clothes off the area. The diaper can rub and cause bleeding.
If it smells bad then go to a doctor.

Totally normal. This happened to my son also. Just make sure you keep cleaning it, do not stop cleaning it just because the cord has fallen off. Keep using alcohol. Aquaphor ointment helps speed up the healing. It shouldn't hurt your daughter.
You can stop cleaning it once the scabs and yellowish material go away.

Your daughters cord falling off is right on schedule and it does not hurt/ the drops of blood in her diaper is her first "period" all female newborns have this period shortly after birth(within first 7 days) its just her hormones stablizing and nothing to worry about. You should also notice that her nipples are unusually hard even though they are still inverted. This is also normal.

Yeah, now save the cord piece in a zip lock bag in the freezeer, named and dated for Identification purposes later in life, and put nothing on her belly button....except a kiss!

Just keep an eye on it for any infection or to feel easier in your mind ask the health visitor next time she comes (or pop into the clinic) but it sounds pretty OK to me.

It should be OK. Did they instruct you to cleanse the area several times a day with alcohol wipes? That is what we do in the OB dept in our hospital.
