My daughter's peditration said we could give our baby juice from about 6 months on, but only 2 oz a day , diluted it in water.
There really isn't a reason to give him juice though, it will fill him up with empty calories when they should get mostly formual/breastmilk at that age.

It's not necessary but if you're just trying to give hime a little bit of change it should be okay. Use only 1 ounce of juice to about 4 ounces of previously-boiled water. Just give him a little taste. Also make sure that it's pure juice and not a "punch".
A good idea is to give him the juice in a sippy cup. That way he learns from an early age that it's a treat, not like his bottle which is food.

Really there is no need to give juice till they are over a year unless its for constipation. Juice doesn't have very much nutrients in it and its full of sugar. If you do choose to start juice (and its totally up to you) dilute it with 1/2 water and just give an ounce or two a day but not much more. Babies still need most of their nutrients from breast milk or formula and if you give them to much juice they drink less milk which isn't good for them. Personally I wouldn't give juice until you have started other solids.

Why? He doesn't need juice. Juice is really not good for babies, or kids, or adults even. Juice is empty calories with too much sugar. (If you think they're getting a lot of fruit content by drinking juice - you're mislead.)
Juice will just fill up his belly for no reason. It is bad for their teeth and even if he doesn't have any now, he will, and then you can't take it away later.
The only time we used juice was that we mixed it with his oatmeal cereal to make it taste better and it helped prevent constipation. And then we gave him milk or water with it as his drink.

I started juice in a sippy cup when my daughter was around 6 months old, about the same time we did solids. Just don't mix it with too many fruits in one day. My daughter gets the worst diaper rashes if she has too much fruit. I think he is ready for it. Use it as a snack every once in a while. No more than 8 ounces. (4 oz. juice and 4oz. water mixed), every 24 hours. Juicy Juice is what we use. 100% juice only! No artificial stuff! (And NO milk until he's 1, by the way, to "upyours")

If I were you I would not give your son juice. You should consider possibly giving ovaltine with milk, or just plain milk, and also getting him used to water. However you should hold off from it till age 1 when you should be taking away the bottle, or breast. If you want to give him something start with plain water. My kids drink bottled water and love it, as well as milk why not get them used to the healthy stuff, instead of addicted to the sugar.. Juice wires them up like crazy. You should educate yourself on the dangers of sugar in children, and adults also it may change how you feed your child... It did for me..

If you have any family history of diabetes in your family it is best to stay away from it until your child is at least a year-old. Even if it says "Low-sugar" it still has A LOT of natural sugars in it.

He shouldn't until he is six months old but I think you can still give it to him...two weeks doesn't really matter too much. Becareful to dilute it though..
Congratulations on your new baby!!!
