I wanted to breast feed my baby from birth, however she weighted 8lb and wasn't peeing enough at the hospital so me had to give her formula until my milk came in. Now she is 6 weeks and at 2-3 weeks it seemed like I wasn't giving her enough when she nursed so we gave her a bottle to fill up. Now she will only stay on the breast for a few minutes and mostly to just fall asleep. I am pumping about three times in 24 hours but only get 3oz per side. I need to know if we confused her and she doesn't want the breast anymore? And how often do I need to pump so my milk won't dry up and she can still get some breast milk? Any finally how do I find time to pump more when I am bottle feeding and she is staying up more and more during the day?

I breastfeed my two month old for the first month - and I got a serious sinus infection and had to take various medications for a few days and within the few days my milk went away - could I ever get my breastmilk back?

My 4 week old is sleeping 6-8 hours through the night, should I be waking her up to feed or is it okay for her to sleep through it. I am wondering if this is the reason she is like starving during the day and drinks like 4 oz every 2 hours or so.

Ok, So my 8 month old daughter will not keep formula down.
Any formula. And Goats milk.
We have tried it all, even her pediatrician is stumped, has this ever happened to anyone?
Please don't make me feel bad for this, I have posted another question about my daughter trying goats milk, and was made to look like a terrible mother. So, for all those people who don't put common sense into it. Please know I have, and the DOCTOR has.
Thanks.

stomach to sleep since he was born, and now he is 5 weeks old. If I put him on his back he will either cry and turn himself over to his stomach. Is it ok? Am I a bad mother?

I've tried Dr. Browns bottles and they fine were when my child was younger, but after a while it became a hassle to wash them. Then, I started using Playtex Ventaire bottles. These leak from the bottom after using a few times. I am looking for a bottle that my child can suck on without having to stop to let air flow through. Ventair bottles seemed to to the trick, but with leaking from the bottom. Is there anything out there?

I just got back from India with my 8 month old baby boy. We were there for 5 months and he met so many freinds and relatives that now we're back in USA and there is almost no one we know. I am afraid for my baby that he will be lonely. I feel sorry for him. He was constantly sorrounded by people in India and here its just his parents and him. Will that affect him?

Ok, I know this is going to sound really odd, but I'm stumped and could use some suggestions or ideas.

I have a two year old and a five month old baby. My last known period was in July of 04, right before I conceived my two year old. I obviously ovulated after I had her because I became pregnant again when she was about 8 months old, but I didn't have a period.

Well now that I have had my 5 month old, I still haven't had a period. I only bfed him for 2 months, I use protection (condoms and bc), so I don't know why AF hasn't returned. Just to be careful I took 3 pregnancy tests all were negative, could there be an underlying problem?

I made an appt. to see my Ob/Gyn next week but now I am really worried and just wanted to see if anyone else had a similar situation.

I was noticing this afternoon when i gave my 7 month old son his bottle {formula-similac} that he had a lot of red blouches on his face. could you think that he could possibly be allergic? hes been using ever since he was born. i didnt breast-feed he been on that same formula ever since. no feaver, no ahces that i know of. no diareah { however you spell it} nothin else like that. no throwing up. i am just wondering what are those? thats like the 5th time i have seen them on him.

She is very smart, looks and talks like a 5 yr old, is very stubborn and is very attached to her binkie. She sleeps with it and walks around a lot of the time with it in her mouth. We discourage this but she speaks with it in her mouth (we don't respond to her when she does this but she still does it a lot). I stay at home with her and her father and i are together, there are no specific stressers at home that involve her, we are a happy family. Please help me get her past this attachment without traumatizing her.

Just wanted to say thank you for all the kind answers and advice. I've finally asked for help. I was scared that I couldn't deal with the stress of being a single mum and post natal depression. Now I've arranged for a close friend to take my baby out for 2 hours at a time while I catch up with the housework & I can't even believe I let myself get so low before asking for help & support. Thank you. We're doing fine now.

I find sometimes when I pump my milk in the morning I get like 3 to 4 ounces from each breast when done for 20 minutes on both sides. Then at nighttime, the amount reduces alot to like 1 or 2 ounces per side. Now let me ask, if I continue to feed the baby every 2.5 to 3 hours, does he get as much milk if he latches on himself, or is it the same amount he would get that I would see when I pump? If he gets more drinking himself, then how much more milk is he getting, versus me using the machine?
