Ok, So my 8 month old daughter will not keep formula down.
Any formula. And Goats milk.
We have tried it all, even her pediatrician is stumped, has this ever happened to anyone?
Please don't make me feel bad for this, I have posted another question about my daughter trying goats milk, and was made to look like a terrible mother. So, for all those people who don't put common sense into it. Please know I have, and the DOCTOR has.
Thanks.

My 7 month old son has had acid reflux since he was born. He's been breastfed exclusively, but I hear it is much more common in formula fed babies. The symptoms are excessive spitting up, and fussiness. Is she throwing up alot, and frequently? I'd had no idea that babies could get this, but he is now on Zantac, and Reglan to speed up digestion, to alleviate the amount of stomach acid coming back up his esophagus, which could eventually cause damage later on. Have you tried soy-based formulas, in case it is a milk allergy, or also gentlease, is supposed to help with spitting up also. Just a thought, hope this might be an idea or help in some way. If she is gaining weight though, she is keeping enough down. Good luck!

my daughter spits up a lot, too. My pediatrician says she won't change her formula and that all babies have a tendency to spit up. Personally, i think she spits up a lot more than my son ever did and it worries me. If your daughter is maintaining weight, please do not worry!!!! She will grow out of it....after all, once she hits a year you can give her cow's milk and see how she does on that. One thing i would recommend is to maybe put a little cereal into her formula because babies have a tendency to keep weightier things down. Try it and let me know. Also, try to give her formula to her only sitting up and have her remain sitting up for 1/2 an hour after she eats. My pediatrician says that babies have a harder time keeping things down when they're lying down. But don't worry, if your daughter made it to eight months she will continue to thrive eve if she's spitting up a lot. Good luck!!

My brother developed milk, peanut, egg and soy allergies all under the age of 1. Its very possible that the formula might have milk protein (whey) in it, which is causing her to spit up.

Can you ask the doctor to check for milk allergies. I have heard, but not used, a soy based formula product but it has to be supplemented with vitamins.

She might be lactose intolerant. You might want to check with your doctor about that.
