Hi there. I have a question. I was noticing this afternoon when i gave my 7 month old son his bottle {formula-similac} that he had a lot of red blouches on his face. could you think that he could possibly be allergic? hes been using ever since he was born. i didnt breast-feed he been on that same formula ever since. no feaver, no ahces that i know of. no diareah { however you spell it} nothin else like that. no throwing up. i am just wondering what are those? thats like the 5th time i have seen them on him.

if he was allergic to the formula- he would have the rash ALL over his body- Most likely it's "heat" rash- have you checked to see if the rash is anywhere else on him? Babies skin is soo sensitive- even laying their head against someone elses clothes can cause their faces to break out-

Babies get acne a lot and many times it can be caused by rubbing their face on something scratchy or just something that they might be allergic to....where he is not showing other symptoms I would not be concerned....many times it is nothing at all...keep a log and at your next doctors appointment mention it and ask about it....unless it gets worse then call the doctor and ask.

Are they all over his face or just around his mouth? If its just around his mouth it could be excess drool from teething. All over his face could be a food allergy, though he'd probably have spots on other parts of his body too. My daughter has eczema and gets red raised patches on her cheeks near her ears and on her forehead near her hairline, though with eczema you'd again have spots on more than just the face.

if its around the mouth its just probably red blocthes from drool all babies get that at that age. or it might be heat rash if your really worried make an appointment with his doctor so that can find out what it is and treat it.

yes, it's 99% an allergy. have you tried giving him goat's milk? it's the closest to a mother's milk, and easier to digest, too.
