I just got back from India with my 8 month old baby boy. We were there for 5 months and he met so many freinds and relatives that now we're back in USA and there is almost no one we know. I am afraid for my baby that he will be lonely. I feel sorry for him. He was constantly sorrounded by people in India and here its just his parents and him. Will that affect him?

i don`t think an 8 month old would get lonely. if it sets your mind at rest, why not join a mother and toddler group?

Yes babies do get lonely, that is why sometimes when mum or dad put them down in their bed or leave teh room they cry, they dont want you to go they are lonely they want to play constantly,, I think that your baby will prolly be looking around and wondering where all the people are ?? not intentionally but you know just looking around. Mayeb some play groups and outing to a park with some other mothers, try some mothers groups, there shoudl surely be some around you, and i think it would be great for you too.

They do get lonely if they are left alone in a room, but it may be a nice break for him to just have Mom and Dad to himself. As long as there is somebody there for him, he should be just fine at such a young age.

As long as you provide a net of endless love around him then he won't be lonely. My son has mosly me and he is great. His nutritionist says he is thriving and in the 99 percentile of babies his age for development. Endless love is the key.

Get your lil boy to a fun club let him meet people or to a daycare centre to meet other people like him you tend to know whos who and you get to meet new people so if you want him to have friends then best spect is to let him meet other kids at a day care centre
