Newborn & Baby - March 2007

A neighbor of mine told me that her friend told her to have her infant sleep in the infant car seat from day one to help sleep through the night. When she did it she said it worked amazingly. The baby slept ten times easier than her other children.

Would this be harmful for the baby?

My baby is 1 month old and he suddenly started spitting up clear fluids after every meal - sometimes it's breast milk and other times it's formula. Sometimes it shoots straight out of his mouth and lands several inches away.

Also he seems to cough alot when he's laying on his back, but that's the only safe position to sleep in.

Help?

My best mates wife has got contractions every 15 mins as at 12.05 pm today. Guess the weight and sex to win 10 points. Also any good names would be a bonus. The actual weight and sexwill be given in the best answer spot as soon as she pops the little tinker out.

My baby has been teething for the last 4 months (he's now 7 months). Since then he's not slept more than 3 hours at a time at night, he's constantly got a high whiny cry whilst chomping on things and I can't find anything to soothe the pain for him. I've tried calpol, calgel, nurofen & chamomile. He won't let me touch his gums, so I can't massage them. He's got his bottom 2 teeth, but there's no sign of any others at the moment.

Bearing in mind that I've probably got a fair few months of teething to go yet, any ideas what I can try next??

Is it normal to bleed a little after postpartum intercourse? It has been 2 months since I had the baby and first time being active with my hubby again. The light spotting only lasted for a day afterwards.

After asking a question regarding our little one that kept burping up a lot of milk, we were advised by a few to try Infacol. She has never had colic that we know of, just a few griping pains for a few mins after a feed but she does hold on to her wind a lot. Certainly not the hours of inconsoleable crying that some babies suffer with.

Tried the Infacol last night and I am well impressed. After feeding I tipped her from reclined to the upright position and a massive burp came out without me doing anything !! Over the next two feeds she did the same at at 9pm she slept through til 3am which is the longest she ever went (normally 3 hours)

Are there any probs we should look out for with using this product, whats in it and how does it work, I am more concerned that its a drug or chemical of some sort that may not do her much good in the long term

I have a two month old who will only sleep if you are holding her, my husband thinks it is fine to just let her cry it out, but it kills me to see her face beat red and tears down her face. I want to know if letting a baby cry at this age ever really helps. She is a very fussy baby anyway and tends to have a lot of gas, but sometimes I think she cries so much because she is so tired.

Moments ago my wife showed me a sort of mucus substance, with the texture of jelly. It is oudorless and somewhat transparent. We believe it to be amniotic fluid.

I have a new born baby. She's 1 month old.
Is there age restrictions when it comes to having a shower?
Seems like a silly question but I don't want to do the wrong thing.
