My 9 week old has congestion from time to time for a few weeks now. He doesn't have a fever and he's not fussy. But he sounds miserable. What can I do for him?

My son has the same thing!!!!!!!! and he is now 6 months old. I have tried the suction thing but afterwards it still sounds the same. Anyhow I put a cool mist humidifier in our room and within about 20 minutes he sounded great but when I don't run it after a few days he does it again they have such tiny noses and our air is so dry this will work just give it a try you can get one of the humidifiers at walmart for 15$ if it don't work return it but it will trust me from a mom that knows:)) And until you can go get one try boiling water on your stove not while sleeping that is a hazard but while awake. Try taking him in the shower with you when you shower like in his car seat and leave the shower curtain open a tiny bit. Those are both hot humidifiers so to say but if you buy one get the cold ones they say either works because it does adjust to your temp but for my son the cool one worked and we are moving into summer Plus the hot ones are a little more spendy.

I have a 8 month old now...but not too long ago I had to use LITTLE NOSE'S....It's the best for congestion. When she was about 3 months old. you drip a couple drops in the each nostrol, then suck it out. I hope this help, It helps them a whole lot. Good luck

That's what the bulb syringe is for, get an eye dropper, fill it with warm water, GENTLEY drop water into the baby's nose then use the bulb syringe to suction the congestion out. If you're afraid to do it call your doctor's nurse and ask her to instruct you. Also either use a mist humidifire or vaporizer in his room.

hi-just answered this a couple days ago and best answer ..
I have this same problem, my baby is 9 weeks now and had a stuffy nose since we brought her home
be sure to use the sucky thing that the hosp. gave you-it is longer and much more flexible than the ones in the store
I suck about a tablespoon of stuff out of each of her nostrils every time I do it.
oh-also, try to keep the other nostril blocked/covered as you suck out the one side-that helps to get a lot out.

I try to suck her nose out after she sneezes-that helps to get a lot out too.
