A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"

God said, "Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you."

The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy."

God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."

Again the child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?"

God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel
will teach you how to speak."

"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"

God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray."

"Who will protect me?"

God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life."

"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."

God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to
you."

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave
now, please tell me my angel's name."

God said, You will simply call her, "Mom."

Anyone out there have a c section and don't have that weird numb spot? Everyone I've met with the scar has the numb spot, and so do I. Also, sometimes it feels itchy all of a sudden, but of course scratching it does nothing because it's numb... It's been eight months for me, does that sensation ever go away? Any imput would be appreciated, I'm really looking for a survey...

my baby has a problem falling asleep both at night and during the day. Only sleeps after eating at my breast. if we go with eat, then play thensleep routine, he just does not know how to fall asleep on his own or even in my arms, so he gets fussy, tired and cries a lot untill we rock him in. it might take up to an hourand even then 5 minutes after I put him down, he might get awake and we start over. Forget about falling sleeping on his own in the crib as doctors recommend. just to mention he does not seem to have any problem , no gas or anything like that. and we do try a routine to putting to sleep like soft music, dim lights, etc. it does not seem to help he gets very fussy Please help if you know how to solve it How long should be the play time, maybe it's too long so he gets to wired- ours is around 1 hour ? should I try to put him to sleep almost right after eating?

My baby is only a month old & I am breastfeeding. The past few weeks i've noticed my appetite growing way out of control. I drink tons of water & don't skip meals. Does anyone have any tips to hedge the hunger? I was lucky to quickly get into my pre-preggers jeans rather quickly after the birth (which wasn't the case with my first baby) but all this could change if I can't get it together. Please help fellow moms!

A friend of mine told me that she has a friend who is adopting a baby and getting ready to breast feed it. She said that she is manipulating her breasts somehow - to get the milk to come. Is this absolute craziness? Has anybody ever heard of anything like this?

If you can note sources or webpages that discuss this - that would be great!

He also is fussy during the day and has some congestion. He isn't running a temperature however. As a new mother, it is very frustrating. Any suggestions!

My Mom said that it is... How soon did you buy stuff b/f the baby was born ? I'm thinking of waiting til I'm 7 or 8 mos cuz that's not too early. Did any of you buy way too much stuff cuz you started buying things early ? I think that tends to happen also.

Yesterday my 8-month old son had some very light pink spots on his torso - chest and back. Today they're looking redder and a little more raised. Could this be an allergy to detergent? Because he had a little excema on his legs, his pediatrician last week recommended we switch from the popular children's detergent to another brand with no dyes or fragrances. She also suggested we switch to a cream with calming properties. But now this seems much worse than the little patches of excema that he had before - it's wider spread and redder. Or could it be a food allergy?

I'm going to be babysitting a 6month old boy while his mom is downstairs packing for them to move in June. 6-8 hours a day mon-friday for 3 months. They don't believe in tv and I have no clue what to do while i'm there. I usully put the kid to bed and they sleep like 2-3 hours and I watch tv or read or watch a movie, and in this case the mom will be there the whole time and i can't really slack off making 8 dollars an hour. I was just wondering of some things people use to keep themselves busy. When the baby is up I can play w/ him but i'm starting to think 6 hours of playing is going to get very boring. IDK, any ideas? things i can do while hes sleeping besides cleaning because that will take like 20-30 mins for the things she needs done. Also some things I can do while i'm playing w/ the baby to keep myself from thinking about how slow the time is going by. thx

My friend called me a few hours ago, hysterically crying. Her son is 6 months old and loves his bouncy chair, so she will put him in, but she always sits with him while he is in it. I know and she knows hes way to big for it, but he loves sitting in it. She has tried other seats, but he will not sit in them, he fusses, he likes the bouncy chair. Well this morning he was in it, and she was sitting right with him, she turned her head for just a few seconds and he feel forward. He was strapped in but she feels so awful. I keep telling her shes not a bad mother but she can't seem to understand that accidents happen and its ok. She tossed the bouncy chair out, but feels that she is a bad mother for letting him sit in it. She was right there, and thats what makes her feel worse. Any advice on how to make her feel better?

My son is eight months old. About 2 weeks ago he started to babble and say mama and blah blah. This continued for about a week but it has stopped again. I gave him a lot of praise when he would babble. He now has resorted to screaming (usually happily which is good). I know babies should babble around 6 months. I talk to him a lot but still nothing. Any ideas why he would start to babble and then stop? Why would he not be able to babble by now? I already do know to ask my pediatrician by the way but I would like advice from some moms out there.
