my baby has a problem falling asleep both at night and during the day. Only sleeps after eating at my breast. if we go with eat, then play thensleep routine, he just does not know how to fall asleep on his own or even in my arms, so he gets fussy, tired and cries a lot untill we rock him in. it might take up to an hourand even then 5 minutes after I put him down, he might get awake and we start over. Forget about falling sleeping on his own in the crib as doctors recommend. just to mention he does not seem to have any problem , no gas or anything like that. and we do try a routine to putting to sleep like soft music, dim lights, etc. it does not seem to help he gets very fussy Please help if you know how to solve it How long should be the play time, maybe it's too long so he gets to wired- ours is around 1 hour ? should I try to put him to sleep almost right after eating?

At night there should be no playing, just feed in a quiet space with a low light, a quick diaper change then right back to bed. During the day, you may want to change to eat, then play, diaper, eat, and sleep. the key for sleep is to create a routine.
He just might be resistant to sleep, some kids are like that. try a womb bear. try putting him down, letting him fuss for 3 minutes, then patting his back and then leaving, let him fuss for 3 minutes, pick him up, rock him for a minute, then putting him back down. the fussing uses up energy, the patting etc lets him know you are still there. It might take a few days, but worth it!
good luck!

'eating at my breasts'--- lordy never heard it put like that before-some baby boys need a bit of thin rice [warmish] infant cereal, about 5 teaspoons, before they go to bed, but ask the doctor first, you don't want a fat baby. I know they do not need cereal yet for noursishment, but some babies are 'hungry' babies,
after all his needs are met--including going for a stroll [even 20 min.] outside, [in the nice weather keep him in his carraige outside in a more serene area- then put him in his crib and close the door, fresh air makes babies tired, and a warm botle of milk, no stimulous, no company outside his room making noise-no loud t.v. or phones or loud music, make sure his room is not too warm, and no light shines in, give him a few toys in the crib if he needs to calm himself down, and be sure he has not had a late nap or did not spend too much in his crib during the day, -his crib should be something he looks forward to-so be sure he gets adequate attention during the day. we always walked our babies now i don't see American women taking their babies for a walk, but you see it in Europe every day,
