As long as they will give you. I think the norm is 6-12 weeks. Make sure to check out the Family and Medical Leave Act. If your situation applies, you are entitled to 12 weeks unpaid leave. Don't be afraid to discuss options with your boss.

Going back to work after giving birth to your baby is entirely upto you. I've got a 10 month old and I've been back at work for 5 months now. I managed to get my little one into a childcare centre which has been a big help! But yeah, If your lifestyle allows it and you feel comfortable, going back to work not long after having a baby is perfectly fine :)

You need to be home for at least 8 weeks with your baby before you go back to work

You can go back to work whenever you feel up to it! I would take as much time off as you can afford though. Your baby will have to be at least six weeks to go to a daycare center. But if you have a relative to watch it that would work.

I went back when my daughter was 3 1/2 weeks old. really don't recommend that especially if trying to nurse--I didn't have enough of a milk supply and had to switch her to formula. Take your time and enjoy the moment.

Well, no daycare will take your baby before 6 weeks, so I wouldn't go back any earlier than that.

They say that you should take about 6 weeks. I only took 1 and 1/2 weeks and i was perfectly fine. (needed the money other wise i wouldve taken more)
