I'm going to be babysitting a 6month old boy while his mom is downstairs packing for them to move in June. 6-8 hours a day mon-friday for 3 months. They don't believe in tv and I have no clue what to do while i'm there. I usully put the kid to bed and they sleep like 2-3 hours and I watch tv or read or watch a movie, and in this case the mom will be there the whole time and i can't really slack off making 8 dollars an hour. I was just wondering of some things people use to keep themselves busy. When the baby is up I can play w/ him but i'm starting to think 6 hours of playing is going to get very boring. IDK, any ideas? things i can do while hes sleeping besides cleaning because that will take like 20-30 mins for the things she needs done. Also some things I can do while i'm playing w/ the baby to keep myself from thinking about how slow the time is going by. thx

I'm not sure but i'm just glad im getting paid so good for her being home. I wish I could afford to stay home while my husands working plus pay someone to watch my kids lol

Here's a site that has tons of activities based on age, just click on the age, the click on the name of the activity and it will give you a materials list and directions (materials are things that can easily be found around the house, no need to buy things) http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=30&e=playandlearn&ccat=play_and_learn

I'm just curious as to why it would take someone 3 months to pack though, every time I've moved I've done it all in just a couple of weeks.

well, you can bring a deck of cards with you before you leave to babysit, and while the babys sleeping you could play a few games of solitaire,if you are good at artwork then bring a doodling pad alog and do some sketching,if you could knit do so,there are a lot of things you can try to do while you are babysitting.Good luck! Are you still in school or in college? You could use that nap-time of the baby and do some studying!
But please be alert and playful when the baby is awake.
