We call it a Soothie. Because we first used the actual Soothie brand pacifier that they gave us at the hospital and then the name just stuck for all pacifiers.

I have been breastfeeding for three weeks and my nipples has been sore ever since my baby latched on for the first time. It is so bad that I want to scream every time he is sucking. It makes breastfeeding so unpleasant! Is there anything I can do? I've been using Medela lanolin for cracked nipples, but it doesn't help at all.

I am feeding my 4 week old an expensive organic formula. I want to switch him to organic Similac as it's cheaper. Should I switch it gradually? If so, what's the best way to do it? Also, does organic really make a difference?

Hi Everyone,

My *almost* 6 month old is eating jarred foods very well. I've given her the normal squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans, apples and pears. She seems to like anything I put in her mouth.

Here are my questions...

1) When can I introduce meats into her diet (i.e. chicken with rice jarred baby food)

2) Are peas ok? I heard a rumor that she shouldn't have peas until 8 mo. old...I can't figure out why.

3) Since she is eating the jarred foods so well, I've cut back on the rice cereal. She only gets about a tablespoon once in the morning. Should I increase the amount of rice cereal I'm giving her?

I know I'm lumping three questions into one, but if you have the time and energy to answer them, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Mandy

My 7 almost 8 month old little girl is pooping like crazy for the past few days I formula feed her and normally she poops once a day and it looks like those miniature chocolate eggs you get at Easter. We started feeding her more solid foods but lately she is even refusing to take her bottle much less solid foods. Her poop is a bright mustard yellow and reminds me of seedy peanut butter. Should i take her to her pediatrician? Also she is still refusing to even attempt to crawl and can almost hold her head up on her own.

Ok, so my son is 6 months old and I gained 48lbs with him. I was 135 lbs when I got prego and now post baby I still weigh around 155(give or take a couple). My son was born by c-section, my second one(my first child born by c-section at 22 wks and didn't survive)I actually lost 2 lbs with her due to it was a very stressful pregnancy.
I am a single mom and I work full time. I want to start working out to lose this extra weight I am still carrying but I can't ever seem to find the time. My son still doesn't sleep through the night so I am still sleep deprived, and between working and taking care of my son and the house, I am exhausted by the end of the day. My question is are there other mom's out who are in the same boat as me and if so how have you found the time to get in a workout each day?

She is 7 mos old, and ever since she was about 5 months old she only nurses for about 5-7 minutes total, once my let down reflex occurs. She nurses 6-8 times in a 24hr period. She only wants to eat about 2oz of solids a day. She seems full and happy. Weighs 17 lbs and 28" long, so she is fine with her weight, ect. I suspect she is only getting about 2 ozs at each nursing, could i be right??

this is like the fourth time he's had them today, and he figures he's suffering, lol. Any thought on how to get rid of them? My daughter never got them like he does, and when she did, she thought they were funny!
I know it's just hiccoughs, but he's shrieking constantly when he has them, it's driving me nuts! Thanks!

Is there anything I can do or say anything to my boss? (short term medical leave?) I mean, I just cant see leaving a 2 week old while I go to work, plus most day cares will not take a baby until they're 6 weeks old. I just cannot believe they only give 2 weeks.

I am trying to establish good sleeping habits for my 8 week old daughter by putting her to sleep in her own bedside sleeper at night without falling asleep in my bed first or her swing, bouncer. I also want to start getting her down in her bed for naps too. Is this too early? It takes sometimes 5 minutes and other times an hour and half to get her down. I have been starting at 10:30pm the last 4 nights and usually get her down by midnight.
