It's how all bites go it's a really good bruse which explains the black and blue as well as the swelling. It's probally not serious he should be able to hear a lot better when the swelling goes down and the pain subsides.I'm sorry this had to happen to your little one.={ Good Luck!

Very serious if you don't address the situation now. Even though your son is okay and nothing is damaged, if your daughter doesn't understand that it is very wrong to bite, then she just might do it again. Let her know that she hurt her brother and made him very sad and maybe she will learn to comfort him and make him feel better so she won't do it agian. My daughter (now 4yrs) bit my oldest son's hand when she was 2yrs and I made a big deal about it. The serious look on my face and the way I was treating him (like he really needed help but there was really nothing wrong, just bite marks) I think bothered her and made her cry that she hurt her brother like that. She ended up giving him a hug and everything was ok! She's only bit that one time. Hope I've helped and good luck.

Yuck... as for your son, he'll probably be ok and just have a sore ear for a few days, but your daughter needs to be punished for her act of violence against her brother. Even if she is young, she needs to know that there are consequences to these actions and that they are taken very seriously. I'm not sure what you should do to show her that, as I don't know how old she is... and it's hard when they are young. But you need to talk to her, and make her say sorry. If she doesn't understand what she did was wrong, she will just keep doing it.

Good luck!

I don't think there is anything serious going on with his ear as long as the skin isn't broken. The reason that it is black blue and swollen is because he got his ear bit. Let the doctor check it out too double check but I don't think you have anything to worry about!

A girl at my daughter's school bit my daughter on the cheek. She didn't break the skin, and the doctor said as long as the skin isn't broken, she's fine. She did end up having a perfectly shaped circle of teeth marks on her cheek that was a little distressing, but kids will be kids I guess...

It is probably bruised pretty good and that could also explain the swelling. His hearing will probably be just fine once the swelling goes down, but I would definetly have the dr check it out. Sounds like she got him pretty good.

Sorry this happened to your little one.

Man, I know that it is a scary thing when bad things happen to kids, especially your own...but i guess you gotta start telling your son to watch out for girls! They are already vicious!
I'm sure he will be fine, just give him some time to heal =]

Calm down, I doubt the girl had rabies, your going to have wimpy children if you panic over every little thing. Just breath!
