Ok, so my son is 6 months old and I gained 48lbs with him. I was 135 lbs when I got prego and now post baby I still weigh around 155(give or take a couple). My son was born by c-section, my second one(my first child born by c-section at 22 wks and didn't survive)I actually lost 2 lbs with her due to it was a very stressful pregnancy.
I am a single mom and I work full time. I want to start working out to lose this extra weight I am still carrying but I can't ever seem to find the time. My son still doesn't sleep through the night so I am still sleep deprived, and between working and taking care of my son and the house, I am exhausted by the end of the day. My question is are there other mom's out who are in the same boat as me and if so how have you found the time to get in a workout each day?

HANG IN THEIR!! I too packed on a "few" extra pounds after my first :) actually it was about 65... but I attribute that to being a vegitarian for 8 years, and then craving nothing but steak thru my entire pregnancy! That was almost 8 years ago and I am now preggo with number 4, and still carrying the weight. I worked full time for almost 5 years... my husband had 2 jobs so I do know your situation. Most of the time I only saw my hubbie on weekends... so it was like being single. First off... stop stressing. Stress causes you to keep the weight. in the evenings, when you are home with your son.... Play with him for a workout like others suggested. that is the best way to get in a workout. Put him on your belly and do sit ups to him, use him as a weight and do curls, even put him on your legs while laying on your back and lift and bounce him in the air. He will get a kick out of it... and believe me you will feel it! If you keep him very active about two hours before bedtime... by the time it is bedtime he may be VERY tired with all the additional play time and it may help him sleep thru the night. My best friend lost about 30 lbs with Pilates... and I had started the workout before I got preggo with number 4 and did lose about 10 lbs in 2 weeks. I will be returning to that after baby is born in April. I understand the stress that you feel... and let me assure you You are NOT alone! Keep up the good work mom, and take a night away with some friends every now and again! It will help you destress and you will feel much better about yourself!

I'm a full time student and i have a full time job and a full time mom. It's is very hard. I have 2 balance out everything. I'm also in a relationship so I always have 2 make time 4 him 2. If u want 2 work try 2 find job that is lay back so u don't have 2 do much. I'm a security officer so i pretty do my homework and studying at my job. I might add that I 'm handling everything pretty smoothly. Everyday is a challenge but at least u don't have rent, utilities and a baby 2 look after. i also have those bills that u r working 4 but as long u set ur mind that u have 2 do it then u will survive it. Hope everything goes well. I also make good grades in school even tho my life seems so carzy but top of all that i'm still able 2 hang out with my friends and do things with my son and my hubby. U just have 2 balence ur time and take it 1 day at a time.

I am not sure where you live, its cold where I am but if you can take your baby for a walk. Your son will enjoy the fresh air and you will have a chance to work off some of that baby weight. If its to cold to walk, then hold off on trying to lose til you can get out doors and get active. I know its hard but just know that your little one will start sleeping through sometime and you will be able to lose the weight then. I like to do about 10 mintues of pilates or yoga everynight. It does not take alot of time, strengthens and also relaxes you. There is also I video/DVD called the Method baby yoga. Its yoga that you and your little one can do together. I hope this helps out and I wish you all the luck. Cheer up, things will get better. Also, be proud of yourself, I am married and have a 4 month old and work full time and I don't know how you do it with no help. Give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done.

Maybe don't focus so much on a work out, as much as eating the right types of food. I lost 75lbs about 2 years ago and went from 205 - 130 pounds just by eating a healthier diet.

Cut out all the bad sugar stuff, and limit your intake of sugar. Drink a lot of water to keep your body hydrated. Switch from white breads/pastas/rices to whole wheat or whole grain (the main thing to look for is that the flour is NOT enriched... this gives you the nutrients you need, without any crap added)
Drink juices that are lower in sugar content too.

Well, thats pretty much what I did anyway, so that helped me! Good luck, and even going for a walk or something in the evening might help :)

Give yourself a break! Sleep deprivation can actually hurt your chances of weight loss. I say, get your baby to sleep through the night, catch some real sleep for at least a month. Try do de-stress (another road block to weight loss). THEN try to work-out during your lunch hour. Just remember that you can't be everything all the time. You are already doing at least 2 full time jobs, one at work and one as a mom.

Yes, I'm in the same boat. In answer to the other part of your question, I haven't found time to workout everyday. I just watch my diet and try not to become too much of a sloth. ;-)

If you want some good cardio, try marching in place for 30 minutes. It's like walking on a treadmill on an incline, and it might just amuse your baby too. Also, try dancing around with your baby as you pick up around the house.

Good luck!

The only thing that I have been able to do so far is walk on my lunch half hour at work. I work in a nursing home in a country setting. I punch out and walk for a half hour. I just eat 2 small snacks instead of lunch. this has helped me tremendously.

When you are playing with the little one use him as the weights. Lift him up and down in the air, climb the staircases with him, and eat healthier.
