You will stand either at the front or back of the church, where ever the baptismal is and you will be asked questions; ie: if you will assist in providing a loving, spiritual upbringing for the child, be responsible for him or her if anything should happen to the parents, help the parents to lay a Christian foundation/path for the child, things like that depending on the denomination what they will say. The child may either be immersed in a tub or pool of water (or some religions only do it in a stream or river). If you take it seriously, and you should, (you were chosen, I'm sure, because they love you and trust you with their child) you would be responsible for that child if and when the child would be orphaned or even assist the surviving parent if one would pass. Congratulations. :)

Depends on the type of service. Is it the type where he will get in a pool or the type where he just has water poured on his head or no water? There will be a mass or church service maybe singing. Have you ever been to church? Dress nice but Conservative like for work but one step up. A pants suit would be great for men or women.
The god parent's in any case say that they promise to help him live a good christen life. I am catholic and the baptism we have are very nice. Hope that helps

First they will baptise the child and then they will have the godparents come up and stand with the parents and the pastor will say a couple of things and they might ask if you are going to be for the child when the parents can't be and are you going to help raise them with god int their lives.

In the real, religious sense, Godparents are responsible for the spiritual upbringing of the child. But, being that this kid is 7 and has never baptized, the parents probably arent that concerned about spirituality. Your best bet is to talk to the parents!

god parents are there so that if the parents die, you get the children. At a baptismal... the kid gets dunked in water... if you are to do anything at the baptismal... you will be told by the parents...

Godparents are resonsible for the religious education of the child throughout its life.

The baptism ceremony is different in different churches.

In order to be a good parent when your child is getting baptized, you must just sit in the front pew and wave. That way the kid isn't embarrassed!
