We switched from Enfamil to Kirkland (Costco brand) formula when our baby was 4 weeks old because it was half the price. We just waited until one can ran out and switched to the new can. Our baby didn't have any problems switching.
Personally, I don't think there's any benefit to organic. All of it has to be approved by the FDA. But we don't choose any organic over the regular so if its important to you then why not. You can print off two free coupons for $5.00 off similac organic by going to http://www.similacorganic.com/sweepstakes and entering their contest.

I would try the Similac lactose free first because it is the most gentle on a newbornes stomache, then gradually work your way up to the milk based Similac. Soy is also another alternative to giving organic formula. It is a little bit more money then regular Similac but it also works well with babys stomache. I think with the organic formula there is less chemicals and additives so that is why you pay the price, in the long run I think as long as your baby is happy and healthy thats all that really matters.

Reducing the amount of pesticides and chemicals we ingest or give to our children is never a bad thing. To make a formula change gradually replace the old formula with the new... the first day do each bottle 3/4 old formula and 1/4 new formula... if he responds well to that the next day do 1/2 and 1/2... and again if he responds well then the following day do 1/4 old and 3/4 new... until you have fully switched him to the new formula.

Honestly I've never used organic, but I will say this; Carnation Good Start was the one we ended up using for the longest time, and it was perfect for my daughter. Personally I'm not sure how manufactured formula can be "organic", so that's up to you!
As with switching it...gradually is always better. Take your time, and just work your way down. One day on, one day on, one day off, one day on, one day off, etc....Try that, and GOOD LUCK!!

Switch slowly, start with a half and half mix in the bottle, then increase it gradually.
I don't use the organic, in my opinion it doesn't make a difference. But if you think it does, go right ahead, no harm. I wonder if a study was ever done to find out.
A farmer once told me that they can't control what their neighbor sprays on their crops or that the spray will sometimes land on his crops.
Congrats on your new baby!

He may be to young to even know what it taste like. If you really want to change it go ahead it may take him once or twice to realize what you did.
